We will be in Sweden in June after completing our tour of Scandanavia. Want to explore parts we haven"t seen, and am considering training it up to Gavle for an overnight stay. then back to uppsala the following day for another o/n stay. Then we will train back to Stockholm for another 3 and half days.
Are we on the right track or has anyone other ideas?

TR Provence, Israel, Switzerland, Italy..April 16 a day of AA infamy

I haven't been to Gavle, but I did enjoy a day trip from Stockholm to Uppsala and think I would have been happy to overnight there. But it's been a long time since I was there, and I had a personal interest in Uppsala that might have made it more interesting to me than it might be to others - I'm in no place to judge!
Although it depends on your interests and preferred pace of travel, I thought 3.5 days in Stockholm about right.
Hope that helps!

Many thanks for your thoughts. Of course since the Millenium series Uppsala has come to my attention and reading about it, looks worth a visit.
