A lovely cool; bit rainy week in Paris - Wonderful!
And Wed (tomorrow) we leave 12:50 for Brive..a few questions for the experts as I cannot find it anywhere in my train pack..
How far in advance do we need to arrive at Austerlitz?
My SnCF tickets were printed out; do I take them to a window, or just board the train?
Where does our luggage go? Do I need to show passport, or id with tickets?
Anything else I should be aware of?
Been concentrating on this glorious city and know getting a bit nervous about our first train out of Paris.
Conquered the metro and with my "clausto" - very proud of myself..thank youall for so much help
Trip report when we return end of month!
Merci!
a bientot

Sorry, I can't help with the train issues, of course, MB, but I just wanted to give you a "shout out" and let you know I'm so happy you've made the trip and are enjoying yourself. I'm really looking forward to your trip report!
"How far in advance do we need to arrive at Austerlitz?"
30 min. before departure is plenty of time.
"My SnCF tickets were printed out; do I take them to a window, or just board the train?"
You just board the train.
"Where does our luggage go?"
You have to take it on board yourself and put it in the racks at the end (or sometimes in the middle) of each coach.
Do I need to show passport, or id with tickets?
You may be asked to do so by the conductor.
Pvoyageuse - Meric - I now feel at ease going on my next adventure. I do appreciate your quick response and I got an equally nice one from St.Criq by email
Youall are great. I will toast you now with my lovely glass of Bordeaux!
Whoops; I am really bad at spelling today - Gare, not Gard, and Merci, not Meric....
Lordy and I am just on the first glass!

So just sit back and enjoy the trip. One thing to remember - Thursday is a statutory holiday.
Schools, banks, etc., will be closed - probably not an issue for you! Tourist things will usually be open, but you may want to check before going somewhere special.
Train platforms are indicated exactly 20 minutes before departure, so if you get to Austerlits 30 minutes ahead of time, you will have time to buy snacks and drinks.
Austerlitz, dammit! If you printed your tickets yourself, you will probably be asked to show ID when the conductor comes to look at them.
