We will be leaving from Copenhagen and taking a one-day driving tour of the island of Fyn in August. My husband's ancestors came from the town of Assens on the west coast and we would like to take a loop of the Southern part of Fyn. I had asked this question 6 months ago and someone suggested the towns of Faaborg and Svendborg. Any other suggestions of what to see in the South of Fyn? (We won't be going up to Odense).

I'm a Dane living in Copenhagen. I think it could be worth it taking a one-day trip to Funen (even though it's a bit short).
Svendborg is bigger than Faaborg (=more to do), but I think Faaborg is situated more beautiful. So I would might choose Faaborg if I had to choose only one.
Otherwise I can definitly recommend a trip to the island Aero south of Funen. It's beautiful if the weather is good.
I think you're right about Odense. It would be better going to South of Funen.
Thank you, hr1981a. It's wonderful to get information from a local person. So I think we'll stop by Faaborg. Pictures of it look quite nice. If you think of any other little villages in the area where we should stop, please let us know.
