From Tallinn to Vilnius

Hi, its my first time in the forum and i hope you could help me.
I am planning a 12 day trip to Tallinn and Vilnius (my second time to Vilnius).
I plan on staying 4 nights in Tallinn, from the 25th -29th of July, one of those days i plan to take a ferry to Helsinki and spend one day there.
After that i want to rent a car and drive to Trokai, where i plan on staying for 4-5 night (maybe there - http://www.akmeninerezidencija.lt/en/. anyone heard of that place?).
And in the end i want to stay a night or two in Vilnius.

My main question is: I don't want to drive 7 hours straight from Tallinn to Trokai, can anyone recommended a place along the way where we can spend the night? or some interesting places along the way? We do not want to stop in Riga.
