From Orly to hotel in 8th arrondisement
Hello,
I have been doing some research on how to go from Orly to La Maison Champs-Elysees (8th arrondisement, close to metro Champs Elysees -Clemenceau and metro Franklin Delano Roosevelt) at around 3 pm on a wednesday.
From what I am reading,
- Public Transportation: it would cost around 20-25 euros for my husband and I (me?) in almost one hour with stops.
- The cabs would take 15 minutes more or less and cost around 30-35 euros. Is that right? I read somewhere else that it could go around 60 euros. We will be taking 2 carry -on and one regular size bag.
If the taxis cost 30-35 euros, I think that it would be the best way. However, at 60 euros, I could take the public transportation.
Could you please help me confirm if the taxis are closer to 30 or 60 euros? And reliable taxi companies (it would be great to pre-arrange it at a fixed rate)
If they are closer to 60 euros, what would be the best way to reach the hotel by other means? (we prioritize time and less stops with just stairs). I have been reading about the Orlybus, and Orlyval, and the air France bus.
Thank you in advance, I guess itis a silly question, but I do need some help.

The Air France bus from Orly to Étoile / Champs-Élysees would run you 25€ for two, and departs roughly every 20 minutes, takes about an hour. You would walk from there to your hotel. Public transport woudl be less expensive but require transfers and more walking.
Taxi would likely run not much more than the AF bus, be available pretty much on demand at a taxi queue, drop you at the door of the hotel and take about 30 minutes or less. Depends somewhat on time of day as being struck in traffic could take more time run up the meter a bit.
I'd suggest the taxi.

Nobody can promise you a taxi fare, but it will not be close to 30 euro from an airport into the center of Paris. Not sure where you read that, don't see how that could be true. It will be more like 40-50 euro, most likely.
I don't think it's possible for you to get from Orly to that location in 15 minutes by taxi, either. It will take more like 30-40 minutes.

We went from Orly to the 7th and it was in very heavy traffic and I think 35E.
To me a taxi is ALWAYS worth the fare if I have luggage to get through turnstiles (obviously not the bus). but it also starts my vacation in Paris off on a non-stressful note to be delivered to the door

A taxi from Orly to the area of Etoile would be about 30 to 35€. Time en route should be from 20 to 40 minutes.
The train/métro is 12.05€ per person. Alternatively, you could take the Tramway 7 to the Métro for two tickets t+ per person or 3.60€.
The Air France bus #1 is 12.50€ when purchased in advance on line:

The link Gretchen provided, putting in the address of your hotel and afternoon, shows 22.91 euro. I would take the taxi.
I don't think you need to prearrange a pickup in at Orly. My experience is that Paris pick ups are more problematic than drop offs, which seem to always go smoothly.
