From Italy to Slovenia+Croatia

Hi, I am from Macau(a small city in China). I plan to go to Rome on 18 Oct 07 and go to Slovenia+Croatia from Venice. I am alone and dont think driving is ok for me. Here are my questions and your responses are appreciated!

Any suggestions for my itinerary:
18~24 Oct Rome + Venice
25~26 Oct Slovenia (Lake Bled and Ljubljana)
27~03 Nov Croatia (????+ leaving at Zegreb)

1) Is Railway a good means of transportation in Slovenia and Croatia?
2 If not, i will just get one Itailian rail pass but How can i get to Lake Bled from Venice?
3) any suggestions for 27 ~03 Nov in Croatia, should i fly from Ljubljana to Dubrovnik and all the way up to Zagreb? any cheap airline recommended? is it too rush?
