from Charles de Gaulle to central Paris
My daughter and 7 yr old grand-daughter and I (yes three generations) arrive at Charles de Gaulle airport in a couple of weeks after 24 hours of travelling from Australia. I am having trouble working through the advice about how to get to our apartment near Place du Chatelet.
I think we should give up the idea of the RER and metro - just too much when we arrive with the little one. We will have three suitcases to manage - albeit moderate ones.
What is the price difference between a taxi, a private shuttle and a shared shuttle?
Will all of these options take us directly to the front door of our apartment?
Just want to find the easiest option for three tired ladies without spending a small fortune.
Hope you can help!

I agree with Sarastro... especially since you have a 7 year old and have been traveling so long, take a taxi. I always do and I travel solo. It's just so convenient to be dropped off at the apartment.
On the way back, book it the night before... I got a neat App and was able to follow the taxi as he as coming to get me, knew the color, the make and model of the car... and it didn't cost more than a regular cab.
Enjoy Paris!

Private shuttles always cost more than taxis and for 3 people a shared shuttle will also cost more since they charge per person.
Just grab a taxi from the official taxi line only and you will be fine. Be sure you have your exact address written down clearly in case the driver doesn't understand your French.
We had a very funny incident going out to dinner one night with another couple when the driver couldn't understand either the name of the restaurant or the address. I don't blame him - I knew where we were going and could't understand what the guy said - and he was SO proud of his (really dreadful) French. He sounded like Peter Sellers.

The taxi is least hassle at 50€ fixed only allowed cost to the right bank. Complain and remind the driver YOU KNOW IT IS A FIXED PRICE, if the driver starts running the meter. The meter should say exactly "50€" from the start of the ride to the end of the ride.
While the taxi is least hassle, it is not necessarily the fastest depending on when you are arriving in Paris. The highway into Paris can look like a parking lot. At these times, RER is faster, if not comfortable. If you have a smartphone with data available upon arrival, you can look at the google map traffic info to see if taking a taxi means a slow trip into city.

You would be absolutely nuts to take mass transportation with luggage, a child and after flying more than 24 hours.
Take a taxi - it's the best money you'll spend in Paris, no matter how long it takes you to get into the City. Relax and enjoy the ride, or take a short nap.
Hand the driver the complete printed address of where you're staying, including the Postal Code. If you're nervous about the flat fees, add this after the address: "Forfait aeroport 50 EU".

AS said, take a taxi. Have your hotel address and maybe a little map on a paper to give to the driver. Get the taxi from the main taxi queue, not from anyone who approaches you.
You will love the ride into the city and just see the Eiffel Tower "appear" somewhere on the horizon. It is the best spent money on your trip to arrive door to door without worrying if a shuttle will show up (and be more expensive for your party).
Sorry, this is more "echo" of what has been said!!
