Since it seems that a lot of Fodorites are very well-traveled, I thought it might be fun to find out exactly how traveled everyone is! So, how many countries have you visited? Flight layovers in a country doesn't count as "visited".
Ok, I'll start... my number is 7 - I'll get to add two more soon!
Friday poll: How many countries have you visited?

14, I think.
Japan,China,Austria,Germany,England,France,Hungary,Italy, Spain, Mexico,and Canada.
I think my total is 15
16 total.
10.
I've visited 8 countries, so far - Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and Austria (plus 43 of the 50 United States).
My husband, B.J., has visited 17 total - all of the above (not including all the states), plus Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, and Jamaica
And there's so much more to see....Peace
Robyn
Not counting layovers and islands that belong to other countries, about 20.
I was a bit surprised when I started counting.

Europe: UK, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic (11) (Granted, some of these are rather rushed trips)
Asia: Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong (part of China), Taiwan (5, if you count the mainland as separate from China)
North America: US (of course), Canada
So this gives 17-18.
I should start working on another continent.
England, Scotland, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico. Does Vatican City count?
Sixteen, not counting the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, etc.
Europe: UK (England, Wales and Scotland), France, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Vatican (if you count that), and Belgium (the bus passes through, and I did get off the bus to use the bathroom). That's about 14.
Asia: China (incl. Hong Kong & Macau), Taiwan (if you count that as seperate country), Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Israel, Jordan. That's 9.
Africa: Egypt. 1.
N. America: Canada, Mexico. 2.
So, that's about 26, not including the U.S.
Europe: 16
Plus the rest of the world: 24
from Canada - been to U.S., Australia, Greece, England, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Morocco, Belgium, Holland, Portugal, Monaco, Germany, Austria, Mexico, Cartagena, Dominican Republic, Tahiti, Jamaica
WOW 20! - thanks TLC for refreshing my memory! - back to Spain-2004!
16 Two more coming up in May!!!
StCirq,

I would say you could count the Bahamas as they became an independent nation in 1973. I included that one but didn't count Bermuda, U.S. & British Virgin Islands, St. Maarten/St. Martin, French Polynesia, or Hong Kong.
Didn't think to include Vatican City or the U.S. either
Canada, US, Mexico
England, France, Germany (used to count as 2 but now one), Luxemborg, Belgium, The Netherlands
Switzerland
Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic
So 12 not counting the US.
I was on a roll there for a while, with a trip abroad every year or two...then we had three kids...now that thy're older, we can start again!
4 continents and18 countries, not including trips to independent Caribbean islands
From Ireland and live in Canada: Ireland (every year
), Germany, Sweden, Finland, France, Italy, Spain, UK, Holland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Egypt, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, US, Dominican Republic, Antigua, Barbados, Jamaica, Mexico, Venezuala
Some, unfortunately, only on business and therefore much too short.
Europe: England, Scotland, Ireland, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany.
Also Mexico and the Bahamas. Oh yeah, and our wonderful neighbor to the north as well (Vancouver, BC, is a beautiful city with one of the greatest urban parks, Stanley Park, there is)!
Canada, US, Mexico, China (+Hong Kong & Tibet), Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Mongolia, Pakistan, Iran, Syria, Jordan, Turkey, Russia, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Finland and England. 25 up to now.
12 - but several repeat visits. With so many trips to do in Europe, I am less concerned then I used to be with adding new countries and am more concerned with seeing the many splendors each country has to offer. I used to be more into the "I've been to Paris so I've been to France" thing but now I know that to really see a country takes several, if not many, trips. I.e, in France I have been to Paris, the Loire and Burgundy and feel like I haven't even scratched the surface!!
You're right, Patti. I get those islands mixed up all the time!
And of course Vatican City - oh, and I've been to Andorra and Luxembourg and Liechtenstein and Monaco- I'm up to 22!
japan, mexico, jaimaica, cayman islands, puerto rico, england, ireland, france, hungary, austria, slovakia, czech, netherlands, belgium, luxembourg, canada, adding italy in may.
US, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, Bahamas - 5
England, Ireland, Scotland (?), France, Andorra, Spain, Portugal, Monaco, Italy, Vatican, Yugoslavia (as it was called when I was there; nowadays, this would be four: Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia, as we traveled through Skopje, Nis, Belgrade, Zagreb and Ljubljana), Greece, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Denmark - 22
Australia, Japan, Malaysia - 3
Total 30
Best wishes,
Rex
I had a sneaking suspicion that I'll be the "newbie" traveler with my 7 countries, but you guys certainly proved that to me! Wow, 36 countries? That's great! All I can hope for is be able to double my number within 10 years.

Now, how do I go about winning the lottery so I'll be independently wealthy and be able to travel whenever I want?
I've been to thirty countries on 4 continents. Hope to add many more to the list!
South Africa last month was number 36!
27 countries for me
Live in US; have been also to Canada and Aruba, on this side of Atlantic.
Europe: England, Netherlands, Belgium,Germany, Austria,Italy,Switzerland, France, Greece, and Spain:10
Looks like 20, plus 38 of 50 states. My goal to double the countries and visit all 50 states. From beer to wine to schnapps to tequila to mai tais and to local drinks unknown (probably for the best), here is a toast to all of us for being so fortunate to be able to list all these countries we've traveled to throughout the years.

I remember a couple of years ago, Tracy and I were sitting with our friends on the rooftop of the Hotel Hermitage in Firenze (drinking wine, of course). My buddy just looked at us and said, "Do you know how lucky we are?" Well, I do.
Ecuador, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, U.S., England, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Italy, Switzerland, Monaco, Stato della Cittá del Vaticano.
17 countries so far
15 in Europe
1 in Asia
1 in North America.
113 countries. Subtract 8 for refueling or plane touchdowns. That makes 105 "legitimate" countries by this post's rules. I had a life goal to get to 100 nations by age 50. Made it by age 43. What a privilege to see what I've seen, been where I've been, tasted what I've tasted, met whom I've met. The world truly is an oyster to be tasted.
North America:
Mexico, Bahamas,
USA (missing N. Dakota, Vermont, Oregon, Alaska & Hawaii),
Canada (only Ontario and Quebec)
Asia:
Japan
Africa:
Egypt
Europe:
Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Czech Republic, Vatican City,
UK (England and Scotland missing Wales and NI),
Poland (just a border crossing to say I'd been)
21 so far.
Next new one is Greece in the fall.

113 countries??? If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living? Does your job involve a lot of traveling?
I'm a television director-cameraman specializing in overseas documentary, video & tv shoots for clients like Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Travel Ch etc. But also focus on shoots worldwide for charities, humanitarian groups & medical missions agencies working in Asia, Africa & Latin America. Assignments like that, most times, will get one far off the beaten track to, say, Mozambique, Bolivia or Khazakstan. That's just about the only way to get beyond the normal 20-30 countries most would vacation or travel to. Thanks for asking.
Thirty-seven, including most in europe.
Wow! I am such a neophyte compared to a lot of you guys.
My original count was 20 but upon reflection I realized I had left out Italy - I don't know why, I sure had fun there!
So my final answer is 21.
Twenty-two----twenty-three if we've decided to count Vatican City!!! Lucky that there have been repeats of favorites like Italy and Ireland.
Ten, but that doesn't include Puerto Rico, Anguilla, St Martin/St Maarten, Guadeloupe or the Bahamas (it does include Jamaica) I'll add Botswana and South Africa in May
Mozambique, Angola, Sao Tome & Prince Islands, USA, Israel, Turkey, Hungary, Greece, France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, England, Ireland, Andorra, Monaco, Italy, Iceland, Danmark and Portugal.
Favourite country: Sao Tome & Prince Islands.
Favourite cities: Paris, Istanbul, Barcelona & Lisbon
Erm...
40
ish
41 if you count Alaska as separate from mainland USA (which some century travellers club I came across once do)
Well I can "only" claim 5 (other than USA, my home) - Spain, Morocco, Mexico, England, Scotland. Hoping to add more in the future!
To Keith who posted earlier on this thread - yes you should be able to count Vatican City as a separate country.
Roughly 30 (with greatest depth in France, England, Italy, and Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia):
N. America: US, Canada, Mexico
Caribbean: St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica
Europe: UK (England, Scotland, N. Ireland), Ireland, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Austria
Asia: China (including Macau and Hong Kong), Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, India, South Korea
Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti
John H
Do England and Scotland count as one or two?
Do Hong Kong and China (PRC) count as one or two?
23
or 22 or 21, depending
I think most of us consider Macau and Hong Kong just part of China. Technically, before 1997, Hong Kong was a British colony, so it wasn't really a country; and Macau before 1999 was an "overseas" province of Portugal. So, technically, if you've been to Macau prior to handover, you have been to Portugal, even though they don't even use the same currencies. It was similar to the situation with St-Pierre and Miquelon off the Newfoundland coast - those two islands are part of France.
I think most of us consider England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland one single country - the U.K. Even though Scotland, etc has their own "council", the final decision is still being made in London.
Which is not the case for Taiwan. Even though both Beijing and Taipei SAYS there's only one China, for all practical purposes, they are two seperate countries.
Canada, UK, Netherlands, France. Belguim, Germany, Italy, Austria, Copenhagen, Sweden, Spain, Japan
I've visited 22 countries and have lived in three (so far)
If I'm from the UK do England,Wales,Scotland,Jersey and the Isle of Man count?

Spain x 3, plus Majorca,Menorca,Ibiza,Lanzarote,Fuerteventura.
Greek mainland (Parga), plus Corfu,Crete, and Rhodes.
France,Croatia,Tunisia,Turkey (Istanbul),Czech Rep,Poland x 3,Gozo,Malta x 4, Cyprus x 4.
Kenya,Panama,Mexico,Canada x 2 (Vancouver).
America - LA,San Francisco,Portland, all x 2, plus NY.
Hoping to return again for Christmas shopping this year to New York
Hey, cfnculvercity (will find out where that is when I finish this) do you need a bag carrier?
Counting just places I have travelled independently - up and down different ways from Nairobi to Cape Town = 7. Plus Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangla Desh, Thailand, Malaysia, China (not counting Hong Kong and Macau separately). Plus Australia (current home), NZ, Fiji, the Cooks. In Europe - France, France, Gr
In Europe - France, Greece, Spain, Italy, the Czech Republic. And Turkey, and (at last I got a taste of South America but not the big trip I had planned) - Argentina. And the US - geez, nearly forgot - it was such a long time ago - makes 26.
Adding in countries visited on organised overland trips - another 18 in Africa, plus Jordan, Syria, Iran and Tibet.
48. Just saving and planning now for that time in South America! and I really, really want to visit Canada, and Russia and Cambodia, and revisit ...
I'm feeling so unworldly after reading all of the above...but, hope to visit many of the above places in this lifetime. I have only been to Spain, Italy, Barbados, Jamaica, & several US states. In 3 weeks I leave for France, so soon will be able to add another country. I am 34, so hopefully if the future holds good, I will be able to experience many other great countries! So looking forward to it!
US, Canada, Mexico, Belize, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil.
It gets a little confusing with some of the islands, trying to figure out what is a separate country and what isn't! --
St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada, Aruba (Netherlands) I didn't count the British Virgin Islands or the Cayman Islands.
French Polynesia (maybe Tahiti's not really counted as a separate country from France, but it sure SEEMS like a different country!
UK (England and Scotland), Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, Vatican City, Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic.
So maybe 21. There are so many more places I want to go, but then I keep wanting to back to my favorites again and again!
33 countries for me. So little time, so many more to see... Isn't there a club somewhere for people who have visited 100 plus countries?
hmmmm...good question...close to 40 for me. SOOOOOO many more to see!
16 countries so far. With Thailand and the Chec Republic this year it will be 18
OK,
) Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Australia.
France, Belgium, Netherlands,Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, England (I live in Wales
And a lot more to go !!
Muck
So many places to go... It's never enough, is it?
Mexico, Bahamas, Jamaica, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ireland, UK, Netherlands, France, Monaco, Germany, Belgium, Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Switzerland, Greece, and leaving in less than 12 hours for my 5th time to Italy/Vatican City. That's 21.
Will add Norway in August and Russia in Sept./Oct.
Interesting thread!!!
I'm from the US, but haven't seen much of my own country, sadly.
Been to Canada, Wales, Scotland, England, France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands. I feel so inadequate, reading how many places the rest of you have been to!
The Travelers' Century Club lists 317 "countries" in their count of separate entities that are separated geographically, politically, or ethnologically. In reviewing membership applications they accept brief "visits" including ports of call, and fuel stops. Based on these factors, my count of "countries" visited is 70 -- spread over a span of 60+ years, beginning with service in the navy during WW II -- which gave me several Pacific Islands. The bulk, however, have occurred since retirement about 12 years ago. What a great way to spend one's retirement years!
tcl--- my count is at 23 countries (many repeat visits to some of them), 42 USA states, have lived in 3 countries, speak 3 languages. Next summer 2005 will add some of Scandinavia; Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland. Can't wait!!
Let's see... from Canada
When I was about 5, if I remember correctly: USA, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Brazil... and spots inbetween I'm sure.
Recently - USA, Britain, France, passed through Switzerland to Italy, The Vatican, flew through Schipol in the Netherlands, and just recently Australia and New Zealand.
So, not a lot. Oh, yeah, I've also been to Quebec. (Canada joke).
I've been searching for the website that inspired me to post this thread and I finally found it today:
http://www.world66.com/myworld66/login
I clicked on the links for "Visited Countried" and "Visited States" to find out what percentage of the world (or US) I've visited. Not surprisingly my percentages were low.
P.S. According to this website, many of the Caribbean islands didn't count as separate countries because they are under the control of another country.
17 so far, adding 3 more in May/June and another in Sept. So many countries, so little time! Sigh....
I think it's 23 not including islands that belong to other countries. I was fortunate to have studied in Europe so I got to travel around the continent a bit.
I intend to bring that number much higher of course. So many places I would like to see still. However, I am currently returning to several of my favorite countries to experience them in more depth.
18 countries on four continents but I am still about 10 countries behind those visited by my wife.
Steve
9 - Canada, USA, Holland, France, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, Spain and England. And it's probably going to be France, France and more France in the next 5 years or so.
11 but 13 if counting US and Vatican
France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, England, Holland, Belize, Mexico, Caman Islands, Canada.
And I just started 5 years ago when I graduated from high school. I want to see so much more.
32 countries in total (including my home country, but excluding the Vatican city!)
Europe - 15
England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Denmark, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Greece
Asia - 4
Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka
Australasia - 5 (is it a continent??)
Australia, New Zealand, French Polynesia, Fiji, The Cook Islands
North America - 3
USA, Barbados, Mexico,
Africa - 2
Morocco, Tunisia
Nice thread! IT's nice to sit down and count your blessings, so tho speak, every once in a while.
hmm let's see: Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, Kenya, Greece, Italy, France, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Holland, England, USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, oh and the UAE. That's it?! So much more to see!
Total 22
oops forgot Spain and Switzerland, so that's 24, yay
France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Turkey, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta, Ireland, USA, Canada, Costa Rica, South Africa, Swaziland. Oh, and one foot in Portugal when I was 4...
So that makes 16 and a half.
Plus another 3 if I'm allowed to count my homeland of Scotland, plus England and Wales...
I've only really started travelling in the past four years, so here we go:
Europe:
Scotland, Wales, Rep of Ireland, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Germany, The Netherlands, The Vatican City, Monaco, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Turkey, Greece (Total 22)
Asia:
Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan (Total 4)
Australasia:
Australia, New Zealand (Total 2)
North America:
The USA (Total 1)
Grand Total: 29 in four years. Not bad!
Plus Slovenia in a month's time, so that'll take me to 30. More countries than years old, a good equation to maintain I think....!
Europe - Holland, France, Belguim, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Scotland
Caribbean - BVI, USVI, St. Kitts/Nevis, St. Martin, Grenada, Aruba, New Providence, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Anguilla, Grand Caymen
Other - Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama Canal, Hawaii and other US destinations, Canada, Columbia
I believe that is 25.
Europe - oh my, let me think. England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland. Denmark (do airports count?). Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg. France Germany Austria Italy. Switzerland. Czech Republic. Monaco. I think that is it.
North America - Canada and Mexico.
South America - Peru, Brazil, Argentina.
Iceland
nothing in the Caribbean, nothing in the Pacific. nothing in Africa/Middle East/Australia/NZ. not yet anyway.
this is only 21, for some reason I thought I had more than that... I'll think on it.
This is better than working ...

Not counting my home country
Canada, Mexico, Guatelmala, Bermuda
UK, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Russia, France, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Germany, Austria, Switzerland
Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Macedonia, Serbia [Kosovo]
Austalia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam
That seems to be ... 28 and counting ...
Okay -- scratch Bermuda and add Bahamas
4 - France, Ireland, England, Germany
2 on the way - Italy and Monaco
1 possibility - Spain
North America - Canada and of course the US (only about 10 states in the US though)
My number is 18, so far.
Like cfnculvercity, my goal is 100 different countries (but in my lifetime, since I can't travel as much as that.
For those interested, there is a club you can join if you visit 100 countries - it's called Travel Century Club. The website is www.travelerscentryclub. I am not advertising it, finding it one day last year is what gave me my goal.
Also, they count "countries and destinations that are policitcally, ethnologically, or geographically different". There are 317 of these.
I'm using their list as my guide.
Happy travels,
Karen
I've been to 48 if my count is correct. The reason I'm not sure if my count is correct is that I'm counting Scotland and Northern Ireland as seperate countries. I know they are all part of the UK. Should those be counted?
great game - and kaudrey, thanks for the intro to the travellerscenturyclub which shall visit soon. Never knew there were 317 countries to visit. Maybe I can UP my total that way without leaving my ricketty chair (the back keeps falling out which must impress the people downstairs no end).
Meanwhile, I wish to add Indonesia to my list; and I never thought of counting my original country - Britain; or places I'd only spent a few days; or places I went to as a child.
I'll settle for adding Indonesia and Germany (3 nights!! and a long time at wonderful Koln catherdral).
So .. 50 - half way to the magic 100 (joke!!)
I just started traveling when I graduated from grad school 4 years ago. I also go by the Travelers' Century Club guidelines, I have been to:

Mexico
The U.S.
The Bahamas
Albania
Corsica
Sardinia
Sicily
Greece
Ionian Islands
Italy
Vatican City
Canada
So, only 12. I actually am going to Sardinia and Corsica this summer, so those 2 are actually pending
just looked at that travelcenturyclub website and I can add a few more
hawaiian islands, the canary islands, the balearic islands, gibraltar, northern ireland and san marino...so that makes 38 countries in total.
i've also flown through Bahrain and the Maldives...but as I didn't leave the airport, they don't count!!
OK, according to that website's definitions, I've got 14. I don't feel right about including Hawaii and Alaska as separate countries, but I see the point of them being separate.
From Canada now living in Switzerland.
So for the past 4 years I have been to 26 not including 3 other countries in the next few months.
Europe:
England, Ireland, France, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Vatican, Belgium, Turkey, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Monaco, Austria, Malta, Luxemburg, Liechtenstein Plus 3 Portugal, Greece, San Marino in the next few months.
Others are: Canada, US, Egypt, Kenya and Maldives.
Angela
Only 13 so far. But I'm working on that.
When I was 13 my mom took me on one of those 17 countries in 15 days tours so I don't remember for sure, but am sure we went to Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and some little country...I don't know if it counts because I hardly remember any of it.
In college I did a Semester at Sea - we began in Long Beach, traveled to Tawain, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka, India, Greece, Spain, Egypt and Morrocco, ended up in Baltimore, literaly circling the globe on a ship. We took college classes on board while at sea and then were unleashed upon the countries for very short 1 - 2 day visits. Was a great experience, if you have kids in college, I'd check it out.
Went to Israel in 81 and again in 2000.
Now I'm taking my teenage kids to Italy in May.
Joelle
Oh yea, I grew up in Southern Cal so took a few trips to Ensenada Mexico, but so many people there from the US, not sure if that counts as another country.
Wow! It's wonderful what a quantity and variety of places people here have visited. Great to be able to seek advice from such a knowledgeable bunch.
Here's my list:
USA, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Japan, England, Hong Kong (while still British), Brazil, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Australia.
So 15, including US where I live.
Soon to add France!
Beth
Oops, just realized I forgot Singapore, Malasia and Thailand!
Gotta get to Africa and Antarctica so I can say I've been to all seven continents.
Beth
26 countries on 3 continents and 47 states.
About 20: 9 in Europe - the rest in North and South America
Brazil, Argentina, Japan (2x), Thailand, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Hong Kong (3x), China, Sri Lanka, Greece (2x), France (5x), Italy (7x), Monaco, Vatican City (what a dump!), Portugal (2x), Spain, Scotland, Wales, England (the country of my birth), Switzerland (2x), Germany, Austria, Canada. I have also been to Bermuda. I think this is a goodly number of countries I have visited, considering I'm only 34.
8, (9 if the you count the Caribbean)
Curiosity got the better of me and I took a look at the Traveler's Century Club list.
According to that list I am "allowed" to count the San Blas Islands and Wake Island so those two bring my total number of countries visited to 28.
I live in the US and have been fortunate to visit all the lower 48 states and Hawaii.
I hope to be able to add Alaska and at least 30 other places to my list.
Using the Traveler's Century Club guidelines, I can add 12 more "countries" that I had previously excluded
I only started travelling about 7 years ago and so far this is my list,
Honduras, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, France, Denmark, Belgium.
But now that the hubby and I are living in Ireland for the next year and a half, I am hoping to add a lot more to my list.

Honduras, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, France, Denmark, Belgium.
But now that the hubby and I are living in Ireland for the next year and a half, I am hoping to add a lot more to my list. While we are here, we are taking one trip a month. So I should be able to add another 10-12. I can't wait!!!
By "have visited" you mean for how long? How many cities visited?

Belarus
Ukraine
Russia
Georgia (south of Russia, not the US state)
Poland
Czech
Austria
Italy
US - well, I was not born there!
Canada
Mexico
Israel
Baker's dozen
Ok Let's see...
England
France
China
HK (does that count as China?)
Bermuda
Jamaica
Bahamas
Thailand
Germany
India
Singapore
Taiwan (some think it's China but isnt)
Mexico
South Africa
Swaziland
Ecuador
USA
only about 16.. adding 2 more in May
Thanks, stalyn, I forgot I was in Mexico!! Add another one to my list. Blimey.
Asia: Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, singapore, Malaysia, Macao
South Africa
South America: Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay
North America: Mexico
Europe: England, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal.
Thank you tci, it was a good exercise, to do the "bilan", as French say.
Next: Iceland and China
Following on from ThinGorjus' post regarding age. It would be interesting to see how old everyone is in relation to the amount of countries they've visited.
I'm 28 and have been to 38 countries.
Like I said in my post, 29 countries in 28 years (although I've now counted at least 50 trips abroad, several repeats like France ten times).
I think averaging one a year for your lifetime is the absolute minimum you could do and still be a 'traveller'...!
1,567,876 at the last count
Jimbo: I think you can consider yourself a traveler without going to a new country every year. Just because I have been to one country that doesn't mean I don't want to go back (sometimes several times) and explore new regions, etc.
The next question is:
Out of all the countries everyone has visited, how many did you visit because you had to go there for your job, and not strictly for leisure?
Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Phillipines, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Holland, England, Finland, Germany, Spain, Crete, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, many islands in the Carribean, Los Angeles, New York City.
OK, can't resist: 30 countries in 40 years of traveling, with many repeat trips to some. I went to 7 countries on business initially, but managed to have some tourist time as well.
I forgot Russia too!!
40 ish...but I'm worried I may never catch up with my brother who is over 60! In fact he just called to say he's heading over to Morocco for a couple of days during an Easter visit to Spain...next thing he'll be telling me he made it down to Western Sahara!
Three continents:
1. North America: Canada, Mexico, Bahamas
2. Europe: England, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Yugoslovia, Austria
3. Africa: Tunisia
Hoping to see a few more this summer....
9: Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, France (3 times), Belgium, Spain, England, Wales and Italy.
Happily, I have a long way to go!
oops! 10: Forgot Jamaica!
10 not including stopovers (which I would love to include because it would greatly increase my numbers therefor making me look like a real globe trotter)
Essentially, 9. Took a train through northeast France but never got off- that shouldn't count. The Vatican as well, though technically independent, shouldn't count.
I live in Canada.
have been to 45 states in the US
Fiji
New Zealand
Cook Islands
France
Germany
Finland
Sweden
That makes 8, but we leave at the end of April for a month in Europe, so we should add Italy, The UK, and Switzerland this trip
Cheers, Al

Very good question tcl...it started me thinking about my life...
Born: Malaysia (does that count?)
Childhood: England
Junior College: Singapore
University: Australia (still there and have been for past 7 years!)
In Betweens:
Korea
Japan
China
Hong Kong
New Zealand
Ireland
Turkey
United States
Bali (not really Indonesia tho!!)
UAE
My Aussie friends keep forgetting I'm not entirely Aussie, my sister says I sound like Steve Irwin but people still ask if I'm British.
I'm going back to England next month and hope to add France on to that list.
As a matter a fact, I am aiming to add many more (hopefully!) as I'm still so young. Here's to everyone and their travels- Cheers!
North America - US,Mexico,Canada
Europe - England,France,Germany,Switzerland,Norway,Ireland, Italy, Vatican City, Iceland
Asia - Japan, Phillipines, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan-not sure if Guam and Okinawa count.

I need to go to Africa!
23 thus far. Adding Croatia this year. So many more to go -- so little time -- so little money!
29 and looking to add three more this year. My, my, how time flys when you are having fun.
England(7), France(5), Belgium, Italy(3), Austria(2), Switzerland, Spain, Holland(3), Luxemburg, Germany(5), Azores, Egypt(6), Saudi Arabia(5), Bahrain(5), Chad, Sudan, Bahrain(5), Qatar(3), Oman(3), EAE(3), Kuwait(5), Jordan(3), Syria, Mexico, Panama, Japan(3), South Korea(8), Thailand, Singapore.

Does it count that I went to alot of countries ie East Germany when it was a seperate country?
From dropping out of college in my sophomore year for a year of backpacking throughout Europe in 1956-7 until now: 77 countries and still going strong (leaving next week for Romania and Bulgaria). But I'm not just collecting countries as I have made 9 visits to France, for example. Although I have thought about it, I have no explanation as to where this wanderlust comes from. Reading too many National Geographic magazines as a kid, perhaps!
New Zealand, Norway, Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Italy, Great Britian, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, U.S. & British Virgin Islands, St. Maarten/St. Martin, French Polynesia, Bequia, El Salvador, Jamaica, Lichtenstein, Denmark, Puerto Rico, Anguilla, Guadeloupe, the Bahamas, Belize, US and of course Texas
Let's see- Canada, Mexico, Iceland, England, Scotland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, Austria, France, Phillipines, China, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, St. Kitts/Nevis, Bermuda, St. Maarten, Saba, St. Barts, Bahamas, Jamaica, Venezuela, Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Ceuta, Burma, S. Korea, Syria, Bali, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Antigua, Denmark, Sweden-I think that's it- so 41 countries and counting-plan to add more to the list this year.
I've been to 17 countries: Iran, Israel, France, England, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, New Zealand, China, Japan, Malaysia, Thialand, Singapore, Chile, Argentina and Canada
Here is my list of 23 and I must say the Middle East and Turkey were done way before all the problems now occuring.

So 63 in total so far. So many still to go!
My short but growing list:
USA, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, Barbados, Jamaica, England, France, Italy, Vatican, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic
I am a piker compared to many here.
10: UK, Canada, Ireland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Russia
Multiple trips to several.
i'm only 17 but i've been to 24 countries. i hope to visit a lot more in my lifetime
Topping for "newcomers".
US, Canada, Mexico, Cayman Islands, Scotland, England, France, Spain, Italy, BIOT, Egypt, Israel.
Wow!!!! I can't begin to hold a candle to a lot of you guys. Mexico, England, France, Switzerland, and Italy. Hoping to add Scotland next year.
If I could get past being in love with Italy I'd probably be able to add more..I just seem to be drawn to it evertime I have the money to travel.
I've only been traveling internationally for 4 years and can add France, Italy, CZ, Germany and drove through Austria. Be able to add Switzerland to the list in December.
mmm...switzerland, poland, England, france, portugal, italy, spain, czech republic, belgium, croatia, slovenia, slovakia, austria, netherlands, Hungary, Greece, israel, jordan, canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuala, and on October 2 I'm jetting over to China and then to Thialand. The trip will include Beijing, Hong Kong and Bangkok! That's 24 countries so far, and I'm only 23!!! (these don't include cruise destinations)
Around 30 I think - including some that aren't countries any more and some that weren't then but are now. Expect to add five or six in the coming year.
Correction - 31 counting Shetland.
21 for me, but it's cheating a bit because Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia were all Yugoslavia when I visited. 18 of those have been in Europe. The rest are the big 3 from North America.
I've visited 146 countries, and 49 US States (Alaska still to go), hope to get another 10 countries in this year. Never set foot in S America though, yey.
Over 70 the last time I counted. But I'm an old guy and have always be interested in travel. Still hope to add a few. I'd love to visit Iran and Iraq, but that looks unlikely in my lifetime, I'm afraid.
5 currently (Italy, France, Germany, Canada, Mexico), plus two more this summer (England, Ireland).

Wow, I am pitiful! Everyone else is so well traveled here!
My husband has been to 13, BTW. He is a little less pitiful than me
Canada, USA, Greece, France, England, Monaco. That's 6, but I'm adding 5 more in June - Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary, and Italy
16 countries so far, but I was only able to start traveling a lot about 10 years ago:
Italy
France
Germany
Belgium
Switzerland
Austria
Czech Republic
Vatican
Hungary
Slovakia
China
Hong Kong (as a British colony)
Taiwan
Japan
Mexico
Canada
I hope to add 2-5 more in the next two years - maybe Greece included. Having children has slowed the international travel a little. My goal is 50 countries, 50 states, and every continent. I have a list of about 20 musts for my lifetime. India, Australia, and South Africa are high on the list.
Bummer!

Returned recently from Antarctica but... that doesn't give me any more COUNTRIES! Can I count continents instead?
15: Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico, Cuba, Canada, Thailand, and Vietnam.
...And a lot more to go!
Not near as many as I'd like!
Other than my home country (US) Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, China (they were not reunited then!), Thailand, Indonesia (lived there two years) One night in Japan, which doesn't really count, New Zealand and in the next couple of months I'll be adding the Netherlands, Belgium, and possibly Germany.
Me: 15 +4 by August
Hubby:21 + 3 by August
36 and counting, for both business and pleasure. Did not realize there were that many until this question arose.
15. It would be more, but I keep going back to Ireland. 8th time next month.
Currently living in Estonia and have lived in Spain too.
I have visited Mexico, Jamaica, Grand
Cayman, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Ireland, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Latvia, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, France, Cyprus, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria.
Russia, Holland, and Croatia are planned trips in the next two months.

It is fascinating to see how many places Fodorites have traveled.

Canada(3), Mexico(2), Bahamas(2), Aruba, Jamaica, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico(2), England(8), Ireland(2), Italy(2), France(2). Brussels for 4 hours
Iceland (2) Ireland(1) England(1) Italy(10) Vatican (10) France(6) Germany(1) Luxemburg (2) Portugal (1) Spain (2) Switzerland (3) Holland(1)

Europe: Italy, Spain, France, Monaco, Vatican City, UK (England and Scotland only)
Africa: Egypt
Will soon add the U.S. and British Virgin Islands to the list (although I'm not sure either would count as visiting another country).
Only 11 countries??? Looks like I've got lots of traveling to do!

Let's see what comes next
add New Zealand! and now contemplating India...
I am such a newbie! I didn't even get my passport til last month, so I have only visited one country (Ireland) 2 if you count conections (England), and 3 if you count Niagra Falls when I was 3 - that's technically Canada right? lol Now that my son is older my goal is to visit one country for every letter of the alphabet.
Not as well traveled as some, but I'm fortunate to have traveled the following:

North America: USA (home!) and Canada
Europe: UK, Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy
Africa: Tunisia
Asia: Taiwan, Japan
I have lofty aims to increase this number by at least 3 next year (it's called wishful thinking), but we'll see how my budget works!
I think it's 33 total. (More foreign travel than U.S. states)
North America: 5
Europe: 21
Africa: 2
Mid-East: 1
Far East: 3
Pacific: 1
Maybe it's cheating, but I counted the Vatican, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii separately. Also counted tiny Liechtenstein.
Wow...I am definitely not feeling as well travelled as I once thought--a lot of you have been everywhere. Great inspiration.
For me it is 15 countries in Europe, plus Mexico, Venezuela, and Canada. I live in the US, have probably seen 80% of it including my favorite, Hawaii. (Although for beach vacations Hawaii ties with Greece in my book, just harder for me to get to!)
11... but (hold your breath because the good part is coming)
5 continents (I noticed none of you listed Bolivia as a country- go, go!)
and I'm 20. Not doing too badly...
Canada, England, France, Italy, Greece, Belgium, Spain, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and, oh yeah, Montana.
Good question.

Most of South America came from when I worked for Braniff in the early 1970s. Also while working for Braniff I rode PanAm 1 and Pan Am 2 around the world which actually adds a some countries (India and Burma for example) that I didn't include in the list per the poster's critera.
(cont)
Finland
Russia
Romania
Let's see. I'm almost 60 years old, so the memory is fading, but I'll do my best:
United States (48 out of 50, missing Alaska and North Dakota)
Japan
Okinawa

Philippines
Thailand
India
Pakistan
Saudi Arabia
Libya
Malta
Italy
Switzerland
Germany
France
Belgium
Netherlands

Adding Croatia, Greece (and Santorini?), and Spain this summer.
Whatever that totals - still have many more to go, although I'm not sure that quantity really means all that much.
Sam part of KC
25 countries. Not too bad, especially considering my age- I'm 26!
Probably not that many, but I think that not that many travelers have been to Andorra AND Estonia. Estonia is the best.
Thirteen...fourteen if you count Vatican City. Note to Geneven: I'll be adding Estonia this summer.
What a poll....well I have 50+ on my list, most if them multiple times..all continents except Antarctica, 49 of the 50 states (missing Alaska), and all Canadian provinces. (Yes, Geneven, I've been to hokey, traffic jammed Andorra, the Tijuana of Europe, and to delightful Estonia).
When I took my first overseas trip as a "guest" of the US government...a 17 year old enlistee in the Army, served two years in Japan...I was already bitten by the bug...and have been traveling ever since. Now in my 77th year as of Friday next, will only be doing France and Romania this year, so can't add to the list since I've been multiple times to those two (will be barging in Alsace and filming in Romania). Absolutely the only European country I have not visited is Portugal...
Like anything else, it's not the number of countries...it's the quality time spent in each and the enjoyment derived from it!
Keep on truckin' gang! You're a fun bunch of travlers!
Stu T.
Did anyone mention Nauru in the Central Pacific, No, well that makes me a bit unique! Otherwise: Samoa, American Samoa, Palau, Guam, Vanuatu, Hawaii, Fiji, New Caledonia,Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam,New Zealand, Thailand, India, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Austria, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Vatican, Spain,Switzerland,Great Britain, Ireland, North America.
Fair dinkum! probably have forgotten a few, anyway that's enough.
I have lived in England, Bahrain, Nassau, Jamaica and Australia. I have visited: Scotland, Wales, Francex8, Spain,Germany, Italyx5,Portugal,Switzerland, Austria,Luxembourg,Czechoslovakia,Greece,Zimbawe,Indiax3,Thailand(numerous),Malaysia,Japan,Kuala Lumpor,Singapore(too many),Indonesia,Papua New Guinea,Fiji, New Zealand (several), New Calendonia, Vanuatu,Mexico,Canada,North America,(several times)
I guess my days as a Qantas hostie helped the count along a bit.
I am incorrigible: 56 (that's not my age) and still travelling! 2006 travel will bring it up to an even 60. Been to many places several times and didn't count overseas territories and regions ie US Virgin Islands, Falkland Islands, Hong Kong, Gibraltar, Guam, Saipan.
59 foreign countries. Next month Greece will be #60.
Too less compared to others...
canada, US, Thailand,Malaysia, Singapore,India
next few weeks will be visiting UK, Italy, France, Switzerland.
That makes it 9
...
Switzerland, Lichtenstein,
Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, South Korea.
That's 27 and counting.
Wow! What a fun poll! I am so impressed....and envious! I am 27, and have only been traveling to Europe for about 4 years, so I am quite impressed with my (small) list of 15 countries! However, I will be adding 3 new ones in the fall so I will have a total of 18. Eventually I will make my way out of Europe for vacations, but for right now I'm addicted.
Tracy
U.S.,Mexico, Jamaica, UK (England and BVI), Switzerland, Belgium, France, Italy, Greece, Germany, Saudi Arabia (okay, I lived there 18 mos. as a child).
And yes KE1TH, I think Vatican City should count, as should Monaco. That puts me at 13 until May, when I visit Spain. Ole!
USA, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Guadeloupe, Grenada, Venezuela, Aruba, Jamaica, France, Switzerland, Italy, England, Austria, Germany, Grand Cayman, and Ireland; 18 and counting.
In approximately six months I can add Czech Republic to the list.
Yikes! I forgot China. So 19 and counting.
This post is so popular probably no one will ever read all the way to my post at the bottom!!!
I live in the States and I've been to 12 countries on three continents; Mexico, Canada, Peru, France, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, Monaco, Vatican, Bahamas.
I can add 4 more countries if you count plane landings- Iceland, Luxemborg, Germany, Denmark.
I can add one more country when I return from Greece in 3 weeks!
Total 17.
My list:
Costa Rica
Belize
Hondorus
Grand Cayman
Mexico
Chile
USA
Canada
Austrailia
New Zealand
England
France
Germany
Beligum
Holland
Spain
Italy
Austria
Egypt
Kenya
Portugal
Greece
Denmark
I'm jealous of you all. My list includes nowhere "exotic." I'm a safe traveler, I guess.
I count 22 countries (mostly European), and 46 states (I need to go to New England, needing to visit Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont, and somehow missed North Carolina in the south), but only 3 Canadian provinces.
15 for me, with quite a lot of "doublers" (2 or more visits)
Love looking in on this post. I've been back to several countries (and states)on my list since last year and have added Japan. Completely forgot about Switzerland, Austria, Poland and other West Indian islands. And can I take Iceland if the "layover" was more than a day?
32, and hoping to add more soon.
Around 30 and I haven't even made a dent on what is on the globe! So many places, and so little time.
Hi. I'm new to the board, so I thought I'd start my first post here. Countries I've been to: Ireland, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany (lived there 5 years as a kid - read that as Army brat), Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Greece (including the islands of Paros, Delos, and Mykonos), Turkey, and Egypt. Some countries I've visited more than once. Planning on going to Paris this September with my sister, so I'm researching some stuff on the boards here.
Let's see: Mexico, England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Croatia since 1991.
37 - I think - and counting. Soon to add 4 more in southern Africa.
Up to about 21-22. I went to mainland China, Denmark, Sweden, Norway since I last wrote on this thread in March 2004.

Coo;camden,
Loved your addition of Texas to the list! Living here, I can clearly see why you could list it--it is clearly to its own.
With our last trip a few weeks ago, we have now done all 7 continents and I have been to 75 countries. Will add 1 more this September when we go to Namibia. Joan
North America - 3 countries Canada and U.S & Mexico (is it part of N.A.?)
Central America - 1 country - Costa Rica
South America - 2 counties Colombia and Venezuela
Europe -11 countries UK (England & Wales) Belgium , France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany, Greece, Italy, Portugal Turkey, Vatican
Africa - 4 countries Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa nad Botswana
Asia - 2 countries (sort of) China & Hong Kong
Carribean - Cuba, Dominican, Jamaica, St Lucia,
23 countries - doesn't seem like much really
TopDogJoan, you have achieved my goal in life -- all 7 continents.
So far I've lived in 3 countries (including the U.S.)and visited 19 countries on 3 continents. I'll add the 4th this summer when I go to Africa. I think my problem is that I keep going back to Europe, even repeating countries, which I'm doing, yet again, this spring.
I've also traveled throughout the United States. I can't consider myself a world traveler if I don't know my own country.
coolcamden, are you by any chance a Texan?
Safe travels to all.

I was born in Germany. My parents traveled all over Europe with me when I was a baby. There's photographic evidence, but I don't remember a minute of it! My goal is to see all those countries...again!

1, that's right one. Do I win? Last year I applied for passports for my two teenage children, I got my first one this year. Getting the kids ready to head out has gotten me bitten by the bug. I will be in France for 2 weeks this summer with my daughter whi will done with her year as a Rotary Youth Exchange student. I love this site and have gotten a lot of advice. As a librarian I am doing extensive research, book, internet, people for this trip.
51---MarcusBoxer--I, too, am looking forward to being part of the Century Club. yipppee
Wow so many wonderful travels on this list!
Just back from China, #60.
Also newly visited in the past year:
Croatia
Greece
Egypt
Bulgaria
Costa Rica
Nicaragua
Bahrain
Chile
Next up? Most likely Morocco and Tunisia, but nothing definite yet.
Best to all....

Only 11, but I seem to go back to the same places many times, adding #12 France this fall.
18 that I have really visited.
Using the test of driving through a country and stopping to touch ground (not airport tarmac)--which is the way my husband's family counts --I would be able to add several since I took an Europa bus trip from Athens to Salzburg in the 1970's.
34 countries. We are 55, so we've had years of opportunity to add to our list. We've been to Italy and France (among others) numerous times.
Hoping to talk DH into Australia/Fiji next!
Check out the "Traveler's Century Club" roster if you want to feel humble...
What fun just to read, remember and dream...
...Sweden, Germany, England, New Zealand, Tasmania/Australia (some Tasmanians don't really think of themselves as Australians), Mexico, Canada, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, THE U.S.A...
I have no idea. Let's see:
Canada, Mexico, Turkey, Russia, England, France, Ireland, Scotland, Sprain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Denmark.
That's 18 for me. Here's my "to do" list:
Brazil, Thailand, Morocco, Botswana, Argentina, Peru, Chile, Japan, China
Wales, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Greece, Turkey, Albania, Italy, Tunisia, Morocco, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Cuba, Bahamas, UAE and most of the United States.
27 countries at the age of 27. Will need to average more than 1 a year to reach the century club.
Next on list - South Africa, India and Canada.
Advice to rkkwan - don't call the Scottish Parliament a "council" in Scotland, it won't go down too well! Both Wales and Northern Ireland have their own Assemblies and devolution was voted in way back in 1997. London didn't decide - the people of the Home Nations did.
10 countries
One. America
Been to 25 & several 2 or 3 times & adding 2 more in May but coming from Australia a lot of the countries take 24 hours to reach.
Since my last post in 2004 in this thread I realized I added 12 more countries to the list, one of tbem twice (India)!! So 28 so far!!

Happy 2008 everyone and many Happy Travels
North America: Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas
South America: Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile
Europe: France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Greece, England, Belgium, Holland, Czech Republic
Asia: Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, China, Hong Kong (pre- and post-Chinese rule), Macau
Australia
Africa: Morocco
30!!
Wow--my number is low! If I can't count the two layover airports in Paris and Amsterdam, my total is 3...Budapest, Hungary; Novi Sad, Serbia; London, England. I think I should be able to count the US, even though I'm a native though. I've travelled and lived in several states in the US. That means 4 total if allowed to count the US too!
I hope for more this summer though.
Canada, Mexico, British Virgin Islands, England, Scotland, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Spain, Croatia, Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar, Comores, Seychelles...and can't wait to go to Greece and Turkey!
Hmm...Canada, Mexico, British Virgin Islands (do these count as a country?),Greece, Turkey, Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales (or should the last 3 only count as one?), France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy. So that's...let's see...14. Or maybe 11.
Oh, and all 50 US states!
Looking at all these replies makes me feel like a travel novice (well, I really am, I guess). I've only been to 6 countries- Italy, Spain, France, England, Ireland, and Mexico. I'll be adding Hungary this summer, but wow, I've got a long way to go!
51, but I'm 55 years old. My ambition is to get more countries than years behind me.
Aruba, Canada, US, UK, France, Spain, Germany, Czech Republic, Norway, Italy, Greece, Sweden, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Texas, Denmark, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Argentina, Chile, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands
I know I must be missing a few...
