French/Italian Riviera

Jump to last reply

We have been fine-tuning our itinerary for our early September honeymoon, and would love some advice on filling some holes.

We plan to rent a car in Milan, drive through Asti and Cuneo stopping in Agrituismos for a few days, and then landing on the French riviera. To save on the fees dropping off in France, we have been thinking of returning the car in Sanremo before flying out of Nice.

The plan would be to drive into Antibes, where we'd stay for 3 nights while taking day trips (Nice, Saint Paul de Vence, Vence, Eze), and then heading to Sanremo to spend a night. The annoying part is then taking a bus or train right back up the coast to catch our flight out of Nice the next day.

Is there a better way to do it? Is it worth it just to pay the fee and drop the car in Nice?

Thanks in advance!
