Hello,
We are spending 10 days in the French Riviera in September starting in Marseille and going over to Nice.
From what I've read so far, the market in St. Tropez is the best one. However we only have one Saturday and we will likely be in Antibes or Cannes on the the Saturday.
Is the St. Tropez market good enough for us to drive back for the Saturday? Or are the others just as nice?
Thanks!
Here are the places we plan to visit
Marseille
Cassis
St. Tropez
Grasse/St Paul de Vence
Cannes
Antibes
Villefranche sur Mer/St Jean Cap Ferrat
Nice
Menton
Eze/Monaco
French Riviera Markets

Here is a site that purports to be written by ex-pats living in Provence. http://www.provence-hideaway.com/303.html
I can't vouch of the accuracy of the long list but it does give you a starting point for cross-references on the Internet. My experience a few years ago in the area just north of Cannes suggested that the food markets moved around so each town would get vendors for a day or two. Many other sites mention markets and so do the regional government websites. I've never figured out how the regions and departaments and municipalities fit together; they seem to overlap, which makes web searches awkward. But the south certainly has plenty of official tourism sites eager to promote local products to visitors.
