French Riviera & Italy
Hello,
My husband and i are planning a trip to Italy and the French Riviera in April for about 2 weeks. We've traveled in Italy (driving)before we absolutely loved it! This time around we would like to go back to sienna and also travel to the French Rivera. What is the best way to go to get to French Riviera from Italy? Also, what parts of French Riviera should we travel?
Thanks a bunch!

I think there's a substantial drop-off fee when you return a car to a different country than the one you rented it from, so you should check it out before finalizing your plans.
You could drive from Siena to Pisa, and return the car at Pisa airport. Then you could either fly from Pisa- Nice, or take the train from Pisa-Genoa, Genoa- Nice.
Nice is one of my favorite cities along the French Riveria, and it's very easy to day trip from there (by train or bus) to some of the wonderful medieval hill towns like St. Paul de Vence and Eze. Some other towns certainly worth exploring are: Cannes, Antibes, Grasse, and St. Tropez.
None of these places are cheap, but it's still possible to find deals if you book your hotels early enough.
Good luck!

We just did Italy and the French Riveria this past April. We flew into and out of Nice and rented the car there. That solved the problem of pick up and drop in another place. A
bit of back tracking but worth it when you go through Cinque Terre!! Don't miss Antibes.
