French railway strikes in Nov/Dec '08?

I'm trying to schedule a last-minute trip to Brittany from the U.S. in the next week or two and am concerned about railway strikes during this time. Travel is from Paris to Lorient and return. Can anyone update me (and others interested) on SNCF strike plans during this period and the prospects for negotiations? I'm afraid of buying tickets that I won't be able to use. Thanks very much.

Current info is that the Friday strike is cancelled, but there is still a warning for Sunday. I don't know that anyone knows. You may just have to keep checking under SNCF greve (strike) and see what the current situation is.

Strike talk has been a big story on the French news this past week. There also has been sabatoge of some lines, causing massive problems with disruptions on some routes. Are these problems over?

Thanks for the info, Images2. I had similar trouble trying to avoid strikes when I made the same trip in October 2007, but they weren't employing sabotage then. Please keep me informed if you learn more. Thanks.

Sabotage seems mainly to be over - the case was given to the anti-terrorist police, who promptly arrested 10 people. Since then there hasn't been anything of note.
