French Open Help

Greetings Fodor Forumites,

My wife and I are in Paris now (St. Germain de Pres) and want to catch a day at Roland Garros (we're tennis players and fans) while the French Open is on. We're thinking this upcoming Friday. Any suggestions on the best way to take in as much tennis as a day at the French Open can provide? Looking at on-line ticket vendors appears to be a rip-off. We're assuming we can get there on the Metro but haven't done that research yet. As usual, all advice gratefully appreciated.
