FREE! use of quad-band cell phones
My SiL bought two Motorola T720 phones without consulting anyone, and wound up with GSM when she needed CDMA.
Since she can't use them, she gave them to me - but I don't have any immediate need for them, so I'm offering the temporary use of them to Fodorite regulars, without regard to the borrower's ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual preference, national origin, or political persuasion.
- They are branded AT&T, but I have used both with my T-Mobile SIM, so I know they're not carrier-locked.
- I do not know the condition of the batteries. Both phones power up for days at a time.
- I have only one charger, which is not a problem if you need to borrow both phones. But if you only need one, you will have to buy a charger.
- I will email the User Guide (pdf) to you.
- If you acquire SIMs that aren't locked to a credit card, send them along and I'll make them available to the next user.

You may want to reconsider...
I lent a phone to someone (who has participated regularly on this forum for many years) I trusted. The phone was returned, but not the manual or the charger. I sent a polite request and a reminder. But, it's been two years, and no manual or charger.
Previously, I loaned the phone to many others and all was returned, always with a SIM and the booklet to go with it.

I'm thinking about it...especially since I had no problem whatsoever with perfect strangers. And, I went out of my way to ship it at the last minute.
It's a terrific idea to loan cell phones, especially when there are leftover minutes on a SIM that will get someone else started until they can pick one up locally.

djk - you can download the manual from the manufacturer's web site, e.g., google

Do you still need that charger? I have a spare one that was sent by mistake. What model is the phone?

I know you can download the manual (and I have it on my PDA), but the printed version is much more compact for travel. When you print only the pages you think you'll need, something gets overlooked...
I did get another charger, also. But, thank you for the offer.

jdc - yes, they're available. But I'm implementing a policy change: the use of the phone is free, but I will want a deposit equal to the eBay value of the equipment. email

Robespierre: I remember there was some discussion over if these were quad or dual band phones. Did you ever test them in Europe to make sure?
