Well, virtual anyway.
After sendng in my own entrants, I spent an hour last evening going through the entrants to Fodor's "Show Us Your Italy" photo competition and many of them are truly spectacular. There are some interesting and beautiful takes on commonly photographed sites and many of places that I have yet to visit. This looks to be the best photo competition yet - after viewing the photos I really had to hold back from calling the airline and ordering tickets. To all who have entered - Way to Go! and good luck.

Some lovely photos - including yours basingstoke2 - I really like your night scene.
One question though - you have the letters to Juliet tagged as Venice - why not Verona? I've never been but I would have thought Juliet's house was in Verona, where the play is set. Did you tag it wrongly perhaps?
Thaks hetismig, I tagged them as Venice because that is the closest of choices given to choose from. There wasn't a choice of Verona, Ventian Arc, Veneto etc. Curious though, which night scene did you like, the one in Bologna or the moonlit one in Rome?
I love both night scenes, as well as the one of the kosher menu in Rome. Great photos! (If I had to choose between the two night scenes, I'd give a slight edge to the one in Rome for nice use of light.)
I'm going to show the slideshow to my daughter so she can see what's in sotre for her visit next summer.
I wish I could submit my own Venice photos . . . but they are a year too old, taken in 2003.
Thanks enzian, I have the one with the kosher menus in Rome hanging in my office and it makes me smile every time I look at it.
The Rome one just has the edge, foe the same reason as Enzian says- and I love the Kosher menus one too

Thanks for explaining the tagging to me too
Good luck!
I love your Bologna-in-January picture. I want to get out of my chair and walk on that street, this minute. Just beautiful!
The hardest thing about these photo contests is deciding, among the hundreds of pictures I usually take on a trip, which few to submit. But it's a nice impetus to take the time to look back through all of them one more time and pick out a few good ones, and it's great fun to see what everyone else is submitting. Venice seems to be winning the popularity contest.
Looking good, basingstoke and all! I just put in my 5th one today.
is every picture that was submitted there?
TDudette - I went through quite a a few pictures without finding yours. Did you use a different name?
