Free Canon EOS 50/1.8II from rkkwan

I know this is not really travel related, but I know many of you use the Canon EOS system here and we have plenty of long threads about SLR photography, so I hope this doesn't get deleted.

I have a ~13 year old Canon 50/1.8II. That's the same cheapo model you can buy new for about $70 these days. I'm upgrading to a 50/1.4, so won't need this lens.

This is a "Made in Japan" version with the yellow macro flower. [Newer ones from Taiwan and Malaysia have white flowers.]

For those who are interested, I just want the shipping fees. The lens is free. Email me - rkkwan at earthlink dot net.

This is a recent gallery shot entirely with this lens. Indoor wedding, all handheld, no flash (except one).

BTW, this is not necessarily first come first serve...

Come to think of it, I have more if any of you want them:

EOS 35-80/4-5.6 (Kit lens that came with the original film Rebel, circa 1991 or so)

EOS 28-80/3.5-5.6 (This is the kit lens that come with later EOS Rebels, but I bought it new ~1999. In original packaging).

Tarmon 28-200/3.8-5.6 1st generation. From ~1993.

I figured all these have zero value (unlike the 50/1.8, which has some), but if any of you want them, they're yours.

I'll take the Tamron 28-200. My zipcode is 91302.

Let me know the cost of shipping.

grosenb - Please email me at rkkwan at earthlink dot net.

Robespierre - You were the one who emailed me, right? And you like the 50, right?

Anybody else interested?

I'll buy an EOS and use the 28-50, please. Any advice on minimum mpx? I've done fine with 3.1, but no huge enlargements so far.

I emailed him for one of the cameras. We don't even own a camera! I bought 3 $5.00 disposible ones for our trip to Paris. Pretty sad huh.

Hm... Let me make this clear. These are Canon EOS lenses that will fit any EOS film or digital cameras. I am not including any camera itself.

Rkkwan,

Are you serious? What a nice thing to do!

I have the Canon Digital Rebel xt, and you gave me advice about a lens for it, the 17-85 IS lens which I now have. I have thought of getting the Canon 50/ 1.8 lens, too. I think it would be useful.

Thanks for the information that you give on these forums. I would like to have your give-away lens, if you so choose!

Marsh - It's still available. Please email me at rkkwan at earthlink dot net.

Anyways, posting on ebay cost money. And because of the age of the lens, I can't really ask for that much money. It's not worth my trouble to sell it that way.

Rather than have it gather dust (or worse, grow mold), I want someone to have a use for it.

Marsh - Still waiting for your information, if you want the 50/1.8II. Or I may try to sell it on Amazon Marketplace.

Sold it long time ago, and I definitely won't bother posting pictures for things I've giving away for free. You must kidding.
