Frankfurt to Prague - how to get there?

We'll be in Frankfurt from 4/20-30 and would like to spend the weekend in Prague. Question is: do we take the train or is there a cheap local airline that flies between the cities? While there - any recommendations on a good medium priced hotel (under 150e/night), things to see, etc? Thanks

There are plenty of flights between Frankfurt and Prague with Czech Airlines and Lufthansa but they are all about 300 Euros (Return).

Not sure about any budget airlines

There is a discount airline in Germany called German Wings. I believe the web site is germanwings.com. I'm not sure about direct flights from Frankfurt to Prague, but they do have other flights from Prague from different cities. I took a train from Munich to Prague last fall and it does take about 6-7 hours, so a weekend would be tough. Perhaps you can take an overnight train in one direction.

In Prague just for a weekend, you'll definetly want to check out the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, St Vitus's catherdral and really just walk around on foot. Hopefully it won't be that croweded in April. Prague ranks as one of my favorite places in the world, but its slowly becoming more expensive as it gains popularity.

Enjoy!

By train you're looking at 8 hours. It's about the same if you drive. Consider driving if you have the time because there are some interesting cities and dorfs along the way, and the countryside will be just starting to bloom while you are there.
