Frankfurt to Lauterbrunnen. Need help on the German part!

Jump to last reply

My husband and I are an active couple in our 40s. We are going to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland for the 5th time in August, flying into Frankfurt to save on airfare. We've never been to that part of Germany and understand we can take the train from Frankfurt to Basel, then on to Lauterbrunnen. We'll have around 4 days to get to Lauterbrunnen and are looking for places to go (primarily in Germany) that are accessible by public transportation. Main interests include hiking, experiencing the local culture & scenery, public gardens and drinking beer and wine. We are not particularly interested in museums or churches, but we do like castles. We are looking for ideas of places to spend a couple nights & would love your suggestions, thanks!
