Frankfurt Christmas Market

Hi,

I will be stopping over at Frankfurt for 2 days in December mainly to experience the Christmas Market, any suggestions how to make my 2 days most memorable? I will be staying in Hessen so please suggest what is the best transport service I should be looking for. I am confused if I should book any day tours or its convenient to go around on my own.

PS: First time visiting Europe.

    It depends on what you mean by "2 days."

    It can be 1 night - 2 calendar DAYS, e.g. in Dec 14, out Dec 15
    It can be 2 nights - 48 hours, e.g. in Dec 14 noon, out Dec 16 noon
    It can be 3 nights - 2 FULL days, e.g. in Dec 14, out Dec 17

    If what you mean is two CALENDAR days, you have one night and you probably have only time to visit the Frankfurt market.

    If you are staying more nights, you can venture out quite further from Frankfurt on a train. Just look at the possibilities. Use www.bahn.com to check how long it takes to get to each:

    Day tour to do what? Market in Frankfurt?

    It depends on what you are interested in? If you like history, medieval churches, etc. then going on a tour makes sense. If you like museums, Frankfurt has a wide variety of those for many tastes.
