Frankfurt Airport! Please Help! URGENT

Good Day,

Our flight will be KRAKOW-FRANKFURT-DUBAI. All via Lufthansa, with a transit time of 55 minutes only.

We will have to go through immigration in Frankfurt. Also, all flights are seemingly in Terminal A.

Will we have time to make the flight? Will our luggage also make the flight?

* I read if you run to the gate you "may" make it to the flight... YET the luggage in these cases don't make it most of the time!

PLEASE CONFIRM!!!

Thank you so much,

K

I have done a tranfer in less time in Frankfurt BUT had my luggage. Frankfurt is very efficient but security and immigration might make this very hard today.

Is this a single ticket so you are protected if you don't make the connection? If not, I would never have taken such a shot connection time. And it's certainly possible that your luggage will not make it.

What is "urgent" about this post, anyway?

That is a tight connection.
There is little accomplished materially by asking for "confirmation." This is a matter of probability.
Think it as a lottery. People can tell you the "odd" of winning, but no one can "confirm" you would win before the fact.

Rather than asking about whether your bet will work, it would be more productive do things within your control to reduce the pain if the connection fails. Most posts stop at "you are ok, you are protected." This is correct only in terms of immediate financial outlay -- you don't have to buy another ticket if the connection was on the same reservation. However, if you have consequential impacts, you are on your on.

You can change how you pack your carry-on and checked luggage.
If there is something that would only work at the final destination if you made the connection, can you change the arrangement so that you can arrive later, etc?

I had a one-hour window on my Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt--Helsinki, and it was not a problem. I did this with one checked suitcase.

It seems to me that as long as you're flying Lufthansa all the way, the time allowed between the legs should be adequate.

Just my opinion.

... and as long as your Krakow - Frankfurt flight is not delayed.

Check also on the Lufthansa strike situation if your flights are around the same time. That may change things completely for you.

Sounds like you are going home, so that's not as problematic for your luggage -- if it's delayed, you'll get it in a day or so.

What possible alternative do you have, you bought the ticket and now you'll have to wait and see. What else can you do? If you were worried about that, you shouldn't have bought it in the first place.
