Coming October, have a plan to visit France for 12 days with my family ( two kids). Like to finalize tour program with a lot of help from Fodors friends. Last October did the same for my trip to Switzerland and it was wonderful and i am very thankful to Fodor's.

Which part(s) of France do you want to visit?
You could easily spend the entire time in Paris and not scratch the surface of that lovely city.
I would set aside at least 5-7 days in Paris; Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay, the Louvre and other mandatory sights in Paris. Beyond that, you can take a TGV to Provence or the Loire Valley. Personally, I used the city of Angers as a base, spent a full day visiting Angers then took day trips to Saumur and Nantes.
Are you considering renting a vehicle or using public transport between destinations?
Sounds good, but what's your plan?
