I'm leaving Sat. for four days in Prague and four days in Paris. We are flying Air France so we have to stop at CDG (unfortunately for four hours) on the way to Prague. Do I have time to hop a train into the city and go for a little walk or something? If so what should I do? Where do I get the train? How long will it take to get into Paris? <BR>Thanks for the help in advance.

Honestly, I think it might be really tough. Even if your plan is delayed by half an hour that means you would only have an hour and a half to get back to the airport and be there in time, given at the very least 20 minutes to get into the city and 20 minutes back... well you can do the math. And airport security is pretty tight right now. If I were you I wouldn't risk missing my flight to Prague.

I agree that it would not be worth the risk of trying to leave the airport. Trying to get through immigration both leaving and returning to the airport is going to take time. On a previous trip, I arrived at CDG with what I thought was plenty of time, and ended up spending a good 30 minutes trying to get through immigration. On my trip this past September, however, I got through in less than 5 minutes. You can never really tell, so I wouldn't risk it.

I agree with the others. CDG airport is quite a ways out from the center of Paris. Paris traffic can be horrendous, so taking a cab may not be an option. <BR>Taking the RER to a central station like <BR>St. Michael - Notre Dame might give you a chance to take a quick turn around the transcept of the cathedral, but it is risky in terms of time. <BR> <BR>To find your continuation flight to Prague, you will need to get from Terminal 2, Hall C, where most AF flights from the US arrive, over to Hall B. . It is not trivial matter to get from Hall C to Hall B. <BR> <BR>DO NOT TAKE THE SHUTTLE BUS. It just leads to confusion. You can easily walk from C to B, if you know how. I knew it could be done when we were there last September, but I had to ask twice before I finally found the passage way. <BR> <BR>The four halls are configured something like this <BR> <BR> A B <BR> <BR> C D <BR> <BR> <BR>Where A and C connect via a "ground" level passageway, there is a flight of stairs that lead down to a connecting shopping area between the A - C side and the B - D side. The trick is to find the stairs down to the shopping area that connects the two sides of CDG, walk through it, go up the escalator, and emerge on the other side. Once we did it, it seemed so very simple. But until we found the right place, I was milling about a little confused. <BR> <BR>Near where Halls A and C join, and where the steps go down to the connecting shopping area, you will find a branch of La Brioche Doree.
