Ford Galaxy large enough for 6 adults to do day trips in Tuscany?
We would prefer to rent just one vehicle while in Tuscany, and wondered if others found the Ford Galaxy van comfortable for 6 adults. It says it can carry 7, but from the photos I can't really tell if the 2 seats in the third row are comfortable (for 2 people in their early twenties). And I'm assuming that those sitting by a window in the 2nd and 3rd rows have a decent view of the countryside.
If this helps: Most of the time we won't have our luggage with us. (We will have only 1 carry-on per person any way)
Last question: It looks like the other popular option is a Fiat Scudo- is one better than the other (assuming we even have a choice)?
Thanks!

No mini van wil be totally comfortable for 6 full sized adults -- but the Galaxy will be about as good as nay. But for day trips only since there would be no space for luggage.
I've never been in a Fiat Scudo but since it has a higher roof line it might feel roomier.

NO! I rented one last May when there was a visit from 4 family members. Crawling into the back was not welcomed by those who drew those seats. A Peugeot 805 would be a a barely acceptable alternative.

I am driving a Ford Galaxy. It has 7 seats and adults sit comfortably in the seats, but if you use all seats there is no space for luggage. With 6 people, you can fold the 7th seat, but the space for luggage will be limited. And, yes, getting in and out is difficult for the last row of seats.
The Fiat Scudo has 8 seats and is definitely larger. It will be comfortable for 6 adults with luggage.

I am driving a Seat Alhambra, sister of the Galaxy which I drove several months - they are basically equal.
Getting in and out from the last row of seats is the only small problem - in their mid 20 they won't bother, as teens my daughters fight to go in the third row.
You can adjust slightly the seats from row 2 to give more space for those in row 3.
We've been several times 7 in our car, and no prob. You
have about 20 cms left in the back to store some luggage + your unused seat, so no prob imho.
Don't know the Scudo, surely better but not necessary.

I don't know what agency you are renting from but in our experience with AutoEurope you are guaranteed only the general size of car i.e., compact, mid-size, full size, etc., not the make. I would be surprised if any rental company could promise a specific make/model car on a specific day. If you are able to choose a specific car - and it works out - please share that information.

Thanks everyone. Scudo sounds a bit larger but we could survive in the Galaxy. We won't have our luggage with us the majority of the time. And a little climbing into the back seats isn't a problem for at least half of us!
I planning to use AutoEurope, having used them in the past. I'll let you know if we are able to get a specific car.
If anyone has experience getting a specific car in Italy, from a reliable rental company, please let me know.
