The New York Times is at it again -- a pretty picture of the castle in Marvao and some suggestions about other places in the northern Alentejo area -- I'm surprised they didn't mention the pousada at Arraiolos, one of the prettiest, IMO. I guess their focus was farther east.

Great stuff--I love that area, especially Marvao.
We attended noon mass on Easter in Castelo de Vide one year. The priest must have been 85.
