Ira posts alot so I typed his screen name into the search box on the Europe board, chose "France" to limit the results, and then scrolled down the search results at the left. Everything he has posted, questions he has answered will be displayed.
May be an easier way, but this usually works for me.

Thanks, I also went to Help above the left side and found some questions and answers. It tells how to save the thread but I can't do it yet. I am not very good with computers--evidently I can't even cut and paste right. However, I plan to keep trying this. Thanks so much for your help.

Look for St. Cirq's info on the Dordogne area Also look for StuDudley's posts on the Dordogne and Provence. Both have contributed a lot of advice here. If you type in their names in the search, you will see them.

I've never posted my 20+ page itineraries for the Dordogne, nor my 20+ page Provence itinerary. E-mail me at [email protected] of you want them.
I also have a 35 page itinerary for Languedoc/Roussillon (the region between Provence & the Dordogne), and a shorter one for Brittany & Normandy, and another short one for Alsace. I may be working on one for Beaujolais & Burgundy this winter (just returned from 4 weeks there).
I don't believe that Ira has visited Provence yet.

So far more frustration than fun, but thanks to Stu and this site I may start having fun soon. You were really a big help to us on our Amalfi coast/Naples trip a couple of years ago. I always enjoy your reports and posts.

FOr future reference in searching, I found it in just a couple seconds on my first try. I just typed in "ira and dordogne" to the search box (without the quotes) and hit search and that was it. It was the second post (Ira Does France). It is the third now as this post is at the top.
I did not click on the "France" button in the right box but left that unclicked as sometimes people do not categorize their posts on the right country or combine countries or something. I don't usually click on the country name if the search terms are so specific (eg, dordogne) that you couldn't go wrong with the results. IN fact, I think this post is not filed under France, but I'm not sure.
So, those are my tips -- be as specific as possible but in as few words as possible. Do not hold down the country box unless it is a common term to many countries. use AND in the search box to make a joint search (I assume you know how to do that, it is common on most web sites -- use quotes for a particular phrase, use AND if you must have both words in the findings, etc.). I think if you don't use AND, Fodors may search on the phrase or assume the AND (and I think they've changed that function at times), so I make sure I do it the way I know what I want. Finally, be sure you are spelling the word correctly (maybe your header was a typo, but that is spelled wrong) and do not include funny characters in your search words (like apostrophes etc).
There are some other tricks, but as I said, this one was an easy search. Basically, do not include long specific phrases when a word or two is sufficient as many people may not refer to it the same way you do -- ie, do not type in the exact phrase "The Hotel of the Last Chance" as some may say that and others may just say "the Last Chance" or "Last Chance Hotel", etc., you get the idea.
