Food to leave from the Untied States to those in Ireland
There is a thread here about taking food home from vacation. It has made me think. Is there anything (small) that someone in Ireland would like from the US? We will be staying in B&B's for six nights. Is there anything that we could leave that they would be appreciated from the States?

Dottie-this Summer in Ireland I had brought 2 bags of those pretzels filled with peanut butter (sold in Walmart and some grocery stores, the "pretzels" are square and filled with p. butter). I opened up the first bag while at my mom's in Roscommon while some friends of hers were visiting and they loved them and the second bag went just as fast. I ended up shipping some more bags over when we returned. Adults and kids alike love them.
Shadow

My husband, who is from Ireland, fell in love with Combos when he first came to the U.S.

Also, chocolate chip cookies from Mrs. Fields, or homemade ones. I always take a few dozen over at Christmas time, and that's the first thing everyone asks me about--they don't even bother to say hello anymore.

If kids are involved, they love getting different types of candy (not candy bars, but pretty much everything else) from the U.S. My cousin's kids love getting a bag every time we visit.

If I brought nice VT maple syrup over there for friends (England) - would people know what it's for? I hope that doesn't sound dumb - I wanted to bring over a nice, inexpensive ($10-15) gift of something "American" that couldn't be bought there, yet am not sure if people eat many waffles, pancakes, etc. Advice?! Thanks!
