Food in Positano
hey! myself and husband are heading to Italy for 2 weeks this year to celebrate being married one year. we are looking for a nice restaurant in positano for our actual anniversary dinner. we are really wanting a great view with great eats and know its necessary to make a reservation and request a view. we are young, only 25, and also wanting any great drink places as well. thanks in advance!

Hi
We've eaten a couple of times at Pizzeria "Da Costantino" - http://www.dacostantino.net/. Food is authentic and the views are breathtaking. Prices are very fair. Make a reservation for a window seat and enjoy the sunset.

We always have cocktails at sunset on the terrace at Hotel San Pietro. It requires a short taxi ride but the views of Positano are fabulous.
Drinks at Franco's (next to Le Sireneuse) are also nice with views over the town if you can get a seat.

I am going to Positano later this year as well and started looking for good restaurants as well. I looked at TripAdvisor to see what the top rated restaurants are. From there, I went to their websites to take a look at their menus. Some "great restaurants" had menus which didn't necessarily look appealing to me. My haute-cuisine days are behind me. Two that caught my eye as appealing to me are: Next2 and Da Vincenzo. There were more upscale with small servings on nicely decorated plates, but I am no longer into that! Good luck and thanks for this post (I will be waiting for a great recommendation as well!)

A second vote for Tre Sorelle. Great food, nice service, good wine list, right on the beach and the people watching is fantastic!
Next2 is one of our other favorites in Positano. It doesn't have a view but it has a lovely outdoor seating area. In my 3 meals there I don't remember the food being small or fussy, just very very tasty.
Bar Bruno has gorgeous views of Positano and the food is good (but not particularly memorable), but you have to request a table outside along the road.
I would never trust Tripadvisor for restaurant recs.

We really enjoyed this place in the hills above positano (they had a free shuttle that picked us up and dropped us off back in positano)

Also take a look at Lo Guaracino. It is on the pathway from the main beach to Fornillo. Good food, fairly causal and a nice view of the sea (if you get there before sunset).
Another Positano regular always recommends lunch at Hotel Pupetto, which has a lovely terrace overlooking Fornillo Beach. I am usually in my swimsuit and coverup for lunch, so I prefer one of the beach cafes on Fornillo Beach (if I am there for the day) or getting a pizza and a chilled bottle of wine to go from L'Incanto on the main beach and enjoying it at my lounge chair on the beach.
