Food, Glorious food....in Sweden, Norway and Denmark

Trip almost all planned, thanks to much help from all of you, except for the food. We are senior foodies, meaning we cannot eat as large a portion, but love good food, as you could tell from our non-existant waistlines! Does anyone know if restaurants in Scandinavia ever split meals, as they do in US?

Our trip is: Stockholm, 4 nightss; Oslo, 3 nights; Bodo, 2 nights; Svolvaer; 2 nights; Bergen, 3 nights; Balestrand, 2 nights; Flam, 1 night; Copenhagen,4 nights.

Would very much appreciate your sharing any memorable restaurants. Many thanks,

Senior traveler

Never seen meals split in Scandinavia or Finland, there is no need since the portions are not US size.

Try smorrebrod (open faced sandwiches) in Denmark. You can usually order
them by the piece.

Agree have not seen meal split - and portions will be much smaller than in the US. You might be able to split an appetizer or dessert if you each order a main course - but if you want to split a whole meal I would suggest there will be a significant cost.

If you are walking around all day I'm sure you will use up all the calories of a normal meal - and more,

any favorite restaurants in ... Copenhagen?

noma, Geranium (my favorite in town, but insanely expensive), Geist, Koefoed, Kodbyen Fiskebar, Gronbech and Churchill, Aamanns, Relae, madklubben, FIAT. I'm excited by Amass, but haven't been yet (next Saturday). I also used to like Rasmus Oubaek, but it has been rebranded as Rebel and not sure how much has changed. Heard good things about Radio, but never went.

As to the question about sharing... I want to say I've shared an app in Copenhagen before, but not sure. Definitely never asked them to split the plate in two.

I mention some good restaurants for Oslo and Bergen in my Norway trip report; if interested, click on my name to find it.

Restaurant Radio in Copenhagen is very very good, at least we liked it and it is not as expensive as some of the other places.

Thanks to you all -- appreciate the input. I was actually salivating as I read the article in T&L, and am taking all elastic-waisted pants on trip. Will give report upon return!
