Following the Tourist Board route?
We are visiting for 7 days in August and following the Tourist Board By Car brochure (more or less) landing in Dublin then going anti-clockwise around the island. Stopping the last night in Enniscrone, Co.Sligo before flying back to uk from Knock. We have hired a Passat manual but after reading about favourable automatics, I may try to hire same.

Sorry for not actually asking a question. I wondered if anyone else had done the Tourist Board trip around the coast from Dublin to Knock in one week and whether it was do-able or not.
Thanks for your perseverence.

Barbara, can you be a little bit more specific.
What towns are you stopping off in?
I take it you are going north from Dublin to the the north coast of Ireland and then through Donegal to Enniscore. If so it is doable in 7 days but if you can be more specific it would be easier to help you.

AND - if as suggested back at the begining, you re-posted w/ Ireland in your title you will likely get a lot more help.
So I'd just start over - put Ireland in the title and explain where you are planning to visit and you will get a lot of help. (The Tourist Board recommends a LOT of places so saying the "Tourist Board route" doesn't really tell us much)
