Flying to Tuscany or Venice from Paris/London

We will be in Northern Italy next June. My husband needs to fly home to San Francisco. The kids and I want to get to Paris. What is the best way to get from Venice or Tuscany area to Paris? And what is the one airport for both of us to leave italy from. (One to Paris and one to SFO) I prefer not to fly Ryanair from Venice because it lands so far away from the city of Paris. We will be in Northern Italy (Florence, Tuscany, Venice)next June and we want to take an inexpensive flight to Paris to see friends that live near Eurodisney. We would then take British to SFO. My husband wants to fly straight home to San Francisco on American or British from No Italy. Any ideas for one airport for both these requests?

The question's unanswerable, and Steve's reply explains why.
BA doesn't fly from Venice to SAn Francisco. It flies from Venice to Gatwick, where you have to find somewhere to stay overnight and make your way to Heathrow for the next day's BA flight to Heathrow. Or you can stay overnight at Gatwick and get an AA flight to Dallas and change.
Which is probably not (or is it?) what's in amazingrace's mind. And, personaly, I wouldn't bet on any of the second tier European low-costs being in business next summer, given the downward pressure on fares and the upward pressure on costs.
But the point is, only amazingrace knows what's convenient for her and her husband. All we can do is point out a few facts:
- AA doesn't fly from Italy to SFO. As far as I'm aware, you either fly from Rome FCO to one of its major US hubs and change, or get a codeshare on BA or SN Brussels to London or Brussels.
- There are no low-costs from FCO to Paris. There are low costs from Rome Ciampino which is a pretty short drive from FCO.
- There are BA flights from Venice and Pisa to Gatwick, for possible connection (if timings work out, which isn't 100% likely) with AA to Dallas. There's a reliable low-cost (Easyjet) from Pisa to Orly: amazingrace might be prepared to risk My Air. There are BA flights from Milan to Heathrow Terminal 1, which is the terminal for BA flights to California, and there are Easyjet flights from Milan to Orly. The convenience of this might make the shlep across to Milan worthwhile, especially if flights from Linate, rather than Malpensa, make sense.
- There are no low-costs from Bologna, Verona or Florence to Paris. I've now listed all the airports in Central and Northern Italy served by BA or SN. Treviso, Brescia and Bergamo don't do flights to anywhere that interline with BA or AA
- But don't automatically assume only low-cost airlines offer cheap fares.
- I can't be faffed checking SN, but amazingrace can. And she should keep an eye on whichbudget.com to see what cheapo routes get added or taken away.
It looks like Pisa if the timings make sense: otherwise Milan or Rome. They may all involve some pain.

Pisa.
And spend your last night or two in pisa at the Royal Victoria Hotel (http://www.royalvictoria.it)--one of my favorite hotels EVER. Totally charming, historical place on the Arno with fantastic staff and service. I want to go back to Pisa JUST to stay there.

No matter what were the good intentions, there is no evidence or suggestion that this (re-)posting has helped "amazingrace" in the slightest.
If amazingrace DOES follow the new registrant advice to "click on your own name", it will NOT lead to THIS post!

to send a polite ltittle note (heck, dozens of "us" would compose the text of it for them!) to let him/her know where the post is, why it is in the "wrong" place, and just how much the "community" wants to help get a useful answer to him/her.
I often feel like there is a certain stubbornness - - that when "we" propose something useful that <i>they</i> could do... to make this forum better, they sit on it - - for a year or more, bercause they don't want to take suggestions from "us".
And yet, eventually they do - - postings used to not be "citable" (or "clickable"
as URLs until I (and others) hounded about it for well over a year.
They used to never inform new registrants about the utility of "click on your own name" in that initial e-mail confirming a new registration... until I, and others, hounded about this - - over and over - - for well over a year.
It begins to feel like it would be useful to use the kind of Brer Rabbit/Brer Fox psychology on the Fodors management... "Whatever you do, DON'T send an e-mail to new registrants who are clearly lost in how to make their first post"!

It is NOT preposterous - - when, upon request, members of this community ask them to help someone.

Thank you to everyone for your advice. I did have a great deal of diffuculty finding my post. Also, been away from things for a few days to look it up.
In the end, after looking at all your suggestions I decided on the following solution.
The four of us are flying Lufthansa via Frankfurt for $1300 roundtrip. My husband is leaving via Pisa, Munich, Sfo. The plan is that the 3 of us will leave on Easyjet PISA to Orly-Paris(tickets are available for purchase in March), and then do a Paris via Frankfurt and nonstop to SFO home. Hopefully Easyjet will still be around in Mar for flights in June.We could have added a leg on Lufthansa from Pisa to Paris, but for an additional $600pp. Decided to bet on Easyjet. We could have also done all of this on Air France--but for $850pp (not including Pisa to Paris) more! Dont understand the whole Air France superiority thing. Thanks for your advise, and Ill look in to the Royal Victoria hotel in Pisa.

Tickets are CURRENTLY available until March.
Flights for June will go on sale VERY SOON - probably in the next couple of days. (Many Easyjet summer routes are already bookable ...)
