Flying to Budapest via Lufthansa to Frankfort

We're traveling to Budapest to cruise. We are flying from Dulles (IAD) to Frankfort via Lufthansa and on to Budapest via same airline. We had an option to fly to Heathrow via British Airways and declined, not because we didn't like British Airways but because our experience after we arrived at Heathrow to get to Barcelona through Iberia was hideous in 2010. Finding Iberia Air with poor signage, half hour wandering walk to the correct terminal to get on a bus and then ride another 10 minutes was exhausting and really confusing. Has this changed at Heathrow? Will we experience this kind of problem at Frankfort?

Frankfort is well signed. I printed a map of the airport and had no trouble (and we had to change terminals). If you have a short time frame, pick seats at the front of your first aircraft which makes getting off about 15 minutes earlier than if you are seated at the rear. Since you are staying with Lufthansa, it should be a piece of cake.

Frankfurt is great to negotiate. Easy airport. We got half a sandwich, free beer on our Dublin rt to Frankfurt last month on Lufthansa. Was a bit surprised. We were delayed by 30 min and they were apologizing and offered 200 euro for volunteers for later flight. Anyhow, have used Frankfurt many times and no issues.

No, LHR hasn't changed. I didn't find the signs confusing, but I did find getting from terminal 3 to terminal 5 exhausting and annoying. However, if you are flying into and out of LHR on BA (as I am next month) you are unlikely to have to change terminals. However, flying through Frankfurt is likely to be cheaper because of the taxes charged for flying out of LHR.

Having changed from LHR's Terminal 3 to 5 and the same in reverse enroute home, an exhausting experience, i will remind myself not to travel via LHR unless visiting the UK.

I believe Frankfort is in Kentucky. If you use Frankfurt it might be easier to find things.
