Flying from New York City to Cinque Terre, Italy

Flying from New York City to Cinque Terre, Italy
Would like some imput as to whether it makes any difference which airport we fly into from NYC before training to 5 Terre. Are connections better to the area from Milan or Pisa, etc. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I have flown into Pisa, which is fairly close to CT, but Delta usually only features this service in summer.
Several years ago I took a bus directly from Malpensa to Genoa RR station. The train gets to CT in minutes. As I recall, the bus ride is an hour and a half. (Not for certain, as I slept most of the way.) You might check the Malpensa site for info.

If you can't book to Pisa, it can be quite simple to book a ticket to Genova airport via Rome, and then take the shuttle bus from the airport to the Brignole station, and the train south from there. You can often also find flights to Genova via Paris, London or Frankfurt.
if you fly into Milan, you can take a train from the airport to le Cinque Terre, with several changes, but they leave more often than the bus, I believe.

Yes, the LAZZI bus is very very infrequent! Train connections via Milano Centrale every hour, many trains go directly from Milano C to 5Terre (Monterosso), for others you have to change at Genoa.
It will most probably take more time to travel via Genoa airport than to reach Monterosso by train via either MXP, FCO or NCE.
