Flying Croatia to Greece

Hi all, planning a trip and it has been a struggle to figure out the best way to get to Greece after being in Croatia! I've found the cheapest route for around 160 pound to fly Split to Rome, then Rome to Athens. Only thing i'm unsure of now - the flight from Split gets in at 11.35, the flight to Athens leaves 12.40. There's no way i'm going to have enough time is there? :( The option for a later flight brings it up by 80 pound, even then, would it still be cheaper than organising the ferry from Bari?
