Flying - That Aisle Seat May Cost More
NPR interviewing NYTimes editor of Practical Traveller column and she says airlines are continuing, to offset fuel price increases, to add onto to fees and extra charges.
She says Change fees are escalating and aisle seats, so-called Premium seats may cost even more than the current, on some carriers $10 or so extra
Baggage restrictions are getting more severe with some trans-Atlantic flights allowing only one checked bag without a surcharge for the 2nd

Years ago, I told my mother that my spouse and I saved a ton on airfares by agreeing to sit in the screenporch above the plane. She believed us (a trusting soul who only flew once in her life), and we chuckle at that to this day. Who knows: at the rate the airlines are seeking ways to add fees whenever possible, that the screenporch idea might actually come to reality.
