Flowering Season in Provence

Jump to last reply

I plan to have a holiday in France in 2014. I visited Switzerland and Italy both in mid October in 2012 and 2013 respectively, and loved it because of nice weather and beautiful autumn colours. For my upcoming visit to France however, I plan to try a different month, other than October. I know lavenders blossom in July, but I'm quite put off by high temperatures in south France at that time considering that I will be doing some cycling around.

As such, can someone advise me when is the flowering season of the following plants and where in Vaucluse area can I expect to find them by cycling?

1) Cherry
2) Almond
3) Poppy
4) Yellow flowers (what is the name of the plant?)
5) Sunflowers

Thanks in advance.
