Florence with Toddler

My wife and I will be in Florence in September with our 2.5 year old son. We will be there for 3 nights and are looking for suggestions on where to stay (areas as well as actual lodgings). Ideally we'd like an apartment, but I know it can be tough to get one for only 3 nights. We will be seeing the typical tourist sights albeit at a slower pace. We would like to be pretty centrally located so if we need to go back to our home base for a meal, nap, etc., it wont take a long time. if there are apartments, it would be great to have a balcony or something, but not necessary. If a hotel, it would be nice to have something a little bigger than a regular room so we have a place to hang out after he goes to bed.

would like to get something under 200 euro/night preferably under 150, but if the place is exceptional we will pay a little more for it.

Thanks in advance for your help
