Florence or Genoa airport - Flying from Barcelona to get to Cinque Terre?

Jump to last reply

We are looking to fly into Italy from Barcelona on July 16.

Options are Genoa with 10:25 pm landing or Florence with 8:15 am landing. We are not really interested in seeing Genoa but would definitely like to spend a day in Florence if we can squeeze it in before going off to Cinque Terre. I know one day in Florence sounds crazy but I have been there before and spent time seeing everything I wanted to. It was my favourite place in Italy.

We would like to be in Cinque Terre for two days - still deciding on which town to stay in so recommendations are welcome.

We would have to be in Rome by early morning on the 19th. Our mode of transportation in Italy would be by train.

I would like advice on what the easiest way is to get into Cinque Terre. Would it be Genoa or Florence?

Advice on train schedules and cheap hotels are welcome as well.
