Florence Hotels and the Hotel Bigallo

Jump to last reply

I got such helpful feedback about my hotel choice in Paris, I thought I would tap into Fodorite knowledge again.

We will be in Florence for 5 nights in October. This is our first time staying there, having only passed through before to pick up a rental car and go to the countryside. I did not want to give Florence short shrift and said we would come back when we had a chunk of time to spend there. Now is the time we are (finally) doing that.

In searching hotels, I used a combo the info on here, several guidebooks and some various sites, mainly Frommer (am I allowed to say that here? :) ) I did not score any of my top choices mostly b/c there was either a lack of availability and/or since we are arriving very late the night we get there, many hotels do NOT have 24 hour reception, so I went with this one b/c it has 24 hour front desk as well as raves for location-- and for Florence location is very important.

So as this hotel does not show up on the Fodor search, I am wondering if anyone out there has stayed in it, or knows the place or its locale and can give me any useful feedback. Thanks!
