Florence day trip: how to plan the day

Jump to last reply

DH &I are spending several days near Montepulciano with dear friends - another couple for whom this is their first trip to Italy. We are going to drop them off at the Chiusi train station on a Thursday morning. The train arrives in Florence at 9:30. They will catch a 5:00 train back to Chiusi. This gives them 7 1/2 hours to enjoy Florence - 2 weeks from now.

Here are the sights they are interested in while there:
Accademia
Medici Chapels
Duomo & Baptistry
Pont Vecchio
Uffizi

What would your advice be to them on how best to arrange this day, recognizing that thoroughly visiting the Uffizi & Accademia are not possible given their time constraints?

Many thanks for assistance.
