Florence and World War II

Jump to last reply

We will be in Florence in early Sepember, and are intrested in WWII history as it applies to Florence. We know the Germans blew up all the Arno bridges except the Ponte Vecchio, and there was fierce fighting and bombing around Florence and Pisa. We are aware there is an American cemetary about 7 miles outside Florence, but will not have the time to visit there.
Are there any WWII museums or points of interest in Florence for us to visit?
