Florence and Siena Restaurants
Looking for some suggestions for restaurants in Siena and Florence. We really want authentic Tuscan cuisine and are not looking for contemporary upscale food. A hole in the wall place where they don't speak any english is the ideal. But anything closer to that end of the scale would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I know such a place in Siena as well as Florence.
The Siena one is called Osteria Al Grattacielo. Really good food, had several appetizers, ribolita and bread for lunch. For dinner it seems they have pasta, food was great and cheap.Do have a lok at my page on Siena: https://ashwinbahulkar.wordpress.com/2016/01/31/siena/
In Florence, I liked I Buongustai, it's run by local women, the menu changes everyday, the place is crowded and the food is great and cheap. It's pretty close to the Duomo.

These should fit the bill for Florence. All on Oltrarno, great food, frequented by locals:
Il Guscio
Via dell'Orto 19, Florence, Italy
Al Tranvai
Piazza Torquato Tasso 14/r
Alla Vecchia Bettola
34r Via Luigi Ariosto, 50124
For Gelato:
Gelateria La Carraia
Piazza Nazario Sauro, 25-red, 50124
This was just recommended to us. We have never been there, but it has wonderful reviews.
Trattoria Pandemonio di Casa Brogi
Via del Leone, 50/R

Ciao
A speciality of Siena is cinghiale or wild boar. I had it as a ragù with pappardelle. You can have it other ways. Here's some info - http://italianfood.about.com/od/abou...a/aa031009.htm. Definitely worth trying. Washed down with good chianti of course!
Although it's a chain store surprisingly good gelato can be had at Grom - http://www.grom.it/en/. In Siena you'll find it at Via Banchi di Sopra.
Avoid the eateries at Piazzo del Campo. Tourist rubbish!
