Flooding in Czech Republic, Germany and Austria

Just thought I'd share this as a lot of travellers and regulars on this forum have been to Prague, Passau, Melk in the Wachau where heavy floodings are going on. This might be even worse than in 2002.

Yep. Passau has topped its high water mark, lots of low-lying areas are underwater and trains are being rerouted/delayed/canceled. Sucks to be here right now.

I was in Prague last week (got back late Thursady) and the rain was pretty heavy all week, torrential downpours when i left.According to friends the worst flooding is expected about now but it is not anywhere near as bad compared to the floods of 2002. I remember arriving in Prague on the 13th August 2002 just as the Old town was being evacuated, you could hardly move about the city for several days and it was at least 3 or 4 days before any bridges were open to cross the river

It's pretty soggy here in Bavaria too. And no signs of letting up.

The Neckar in Hiedelberg is also flooding.

The Main is going up a bit, but not too bad until these other rivers start flooding into it.

Hi. Can anyone tell me the situation for trains between Zurich and Salzburg? We are taking the Railjet via the Arlberg pass next week. The OEBB website lists some problems but it isnt very clear about this route. Can anyone let me know any more or tell me where to find out?
Thanks

Thanks for the picts about the flooding. I had just posted an inquiry wondering as to the latest about flooding in the Elbe River where we toured last July...Prague, Dresden, Meissen, Wittenberg, etc. I am praying that damage isn't too bad but realize many have faced losses.
