Flight transfer in Paris
My niece will be flying from the Midwest to Morocco for a study abroad program this fall.
She will need to change planes in Paris. How long of a lay-over should she plan in order to safely catch the flight to Casablanca?
The flight she is coming up with only has an half and a half layover in Paris. Will that be sufficient to clear customs and get to the other flight?
Also - is it correct that she will be going through customs in Paris rather than in Casablanca?? (Flying from Indy or Detroit to New York to Paris to Casablanca)
(Not sure if there is more than one airport in Paris - but this is Charles De Gaul)

not enough time, you need 3 hrs
customs for morocco in casablanca
Paris CdG has multiple terminals see http://www.aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/e...assagers/home/
Delta goes out of 2F and comes into 2E from JFK
Orly is another Paris airport, click the tab on the link I sent you

Do you mean an hour and a half? I would say you may be ok but there are several factors. The last time I transferred in Paris (with Lufthansa) they would only book me on the Paris to Frankfurt leg with a 4 hour lay over. I did have enough time to take the plane that left 2 hours after my arrival. My luggage did not come down for 45 minutes.
Customs is nothing - a minute or so. Perhaps you mean immigration where you show your passport. That's only a few minutes wait in line.
It also depends on what terminal the plane for Morocco leaves from and what terminal she arrives in from the US. Perhaps more information from you would be helpful to make the determination.

What airline(s) and is this on one ticket?
If this is Air France to Air France, it's a 2E to 2F transfer for now. By fall, it might even be a 2E to 2E transfer as 2F will eventually be converted to Schengen only operations. In this case, she also wouldn't go through passport control or customs, only security at CDG.

Then the transfer time should be fine. If there's a misconnect, she should be protected on a later flight to Casablanca. If you want to play it safe, check that she's not connecting to the last flight of the day.
