I need to book a flight from Munich to Mardrid for the 27 Dec. I'm sure when I looked a few months ago it was about 250-300AUD, now the direct flights are upwards of $1200 ![]()
If we go via Paris or somewhere else its about $300, does anyone know if the fares are likely to change much in the next month or so (as it gets closer) or should I just 'suck it up' and go the non direct route?
Thanks as always.
Flight Munich to Madrid, will the direct route get cheaper???

are you using AUD and $ interchangeably? Because I can't figure it out or why you are getting quotes in AUD for european flights. Anyway, all I can say is I have never seen a case of an airline where flights get cheaper the closer to the departure date, and I mean when it is that close.
I'm using sites that convert to AUD..........
usually - almost always - The cheap fares sellout first and then it gets more and more expensive.

Plus you are traveling in the Xmas/New Year period. (You should have booked way back when . . . but you probably don't need to hear huh?
vueling.com is showing muc-bcn 1015-1210 110eu, then bcn-mad 1600-1720 60eu for 12/27.
Thanks greg, vueling looks like the way to go.
Airberlin.com takes you via Palma to Munich for around € 240 one-way later on the 27th with less time wasted changing planes. So you would still have at least 1/2 day for Madrid in case this was important.
Palma is airberlin's hub for going from Spain to Germany and vice versa so the connection there is short on purpose and secured (unless one plane is really late, I guess).
How stupid of me.. I checked it the wrong way..
