Flight connection in CDG

Hi! I'm flying from Helsinki, Finland (inside the Schengen area) to CDG and finally to MEX. My transfer time is 1hour 40minutes. Both of my flights are under the same reservation, so I won't have to pick my luggage up again in Paris. Do you think the transfer time is enough? I understood that I need to go to the Schengen exit passport control. Do I have to go anywhere else besides that (securities etc.)? Any experiences how long will the passport control take? This is my first time in CDG. I've been traveling through Heathrow many times with really short transfer times, but I find that airport very clear and simple to navigate through (unlike I've read about Paris). Thank you!

I have heard that one needs a minimum two hours to be safe, but that has not been the case for me. Last fall I traveled from Naples, Italy to Paris to catch a connecting flight to Atlanta. I was supposed to have 1 hour 15 minutes between flights, but I think it ended up being just an hour. I had no problem making the connecting flight. In the fall of 2013, I flew from Venice to Paris with less than two hours between connections and had time for lunch in the Air France lounge before flying on to Detroit. All flights were on Delta/Air France and I was flying business both times -- so I was off the plane first and didn't lose time being in the back of the plane -- and I get to Passport control among the first so there were no lines.

That is absolutely plenty of transfer time from a Schengen flight with no need to worry about baggage. You will already have your boarding pass to Mexico and if you are in the same terminal (almost certainly terminal 2), you will be able to reach the other flight in just minutes.

If I recall correctly, you can walk between 2D and 2E airside. Not a long walk.

Very easy walk through the same building. You will just have to pass through the part where the rail station is.

Since you will arrive from Finland as a "domestic" passenger, you will just walk off the plane with no formalities. All you have to do is go through passport control and security when you get to 2E. The lines can be long at certain times, but anybody with a tight connection can go to the front of the line. Your connection is not even tight.
