Flamenco -Seville 8/18 to 8/24/16
Flamenco in Seville 8/18 to 8/24/16 recommendations?
We were in Seville about 10 years ago and went to 2 flamenco shows as well as a flamenco music concert and a midnight sevillanas local club.
Know we are traveling in the slow month of August.
Any recommendations for great flamenco or concert?
Also maybe a local club on the triana side such as Casa Anselma?
Would the time to be there around midnight on the weekend after going to a flamenco tablao show?
I also have researched the web about the Seville flamenco tablao shows.
Where is Christina Hoyos now?
Gracias!

Here's the programme for real deal flamenco in Sevilla in August: http://www.guiaflama.com/flamenco-en-sevilla/
Only great artists in the Museo del baile flamenco, and in
- Casa de la Memória (I would have gone here either on the 18th or the 24th): http://www.casadelamemoria.es/
- La Casa del Flamenco (brilliant El Junco dances here every now and then): http://www.lacasadelflamencosevilla.com/
- and in cutting edge Flamenquería by the Guadalquivir river: http://iknowalittleplaceinseville.com/flamenqueria/
All these places are no drinks, no foood, just top of the shelf flamenco and much more affordable than the tablaos.

Booked Casa de Memoria on Aug 18. Another great show.
Went to Cristina Hoyos Museo Del Baile Flamenco twice. Wonderful!
They schedule 3 shows a night. The 7:00 p.m. shows are usually sold out as it is a more intimate show in the basement cave-like room, smaller venue.
El Junco had to reschedule so unable to see him dance on our last night in Seville.
Gracias, Kimhe!

"La Carbonaria" is undoubtedly the best place.
It's a wine Tavern.
Just a 6" tall platform surrounded by tables and benches.
They perform just a few feet away from you.
Entry free. You just buy wine, which was 2 Euros a glass in 2010.
Electrifying atmosphere. Not like a stage performance.
We went there at 9.30 on a Saturday night. Not many people.
We occupied the 1st bench. Some local girls were dancing and partying on the platform. They also pulled me and taught me some steps.
I think the real show started at 10 or 10.30.
Superb performance by the 3 artistes.
foe about 2 hours.
We had fun. Almost as if we were the local residents in Seville, out for a party.
This was on a tip from a very well traveled friend and a fellow fodorite. It's also mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide.
Almost in santacruz.
