Five or six days in Copenhagen
Received some good advice re my trip last year to Switzerland. So, am turning to Fodors travelers again.
Am thinking of visiting COPENHAGEN around Easter. Originally thought of 5 days but am considering 6. I've just started to research and think there will be plenty to see.
Recommendations? Airfare is the same for 5 or 6.
Thanks.

I really don't think it matters, either is fine. If you are there, and it won't cost more [except for additional hotel night and food] then why wouldn't you do 6?
We were in Sweden and Norway last year, Easter Weekend. Lots of things were closed on Holy Thursday, Good Friday through Monday after Easter. Keep that in mind, not sure if same holds true for Copenhagen, but check it out.
We spent 4 days in Copenhagen also, the week before Easter, and really liked it. Lots of history and things to see and do. We were lucky, weather was great, flowers were starting to bloom, etc.

Bear in mind that pretty much all shops and services will be closed on the Thursday, Friday, Sunday, and Monday of Easter weekend. Personally, I try to get the hell out of Copenhagen around that time period.
Museums should be open, and I think most restaurants as well, but it is generally quiet.

Copenhagen is a great place for visiting...down the Stroget, Nyhavn, Tivoli Gardens, National Museum, Carlsberg Brewery. Certainly worth checking on what might be closed for a long Easter weekend. But then why not celebrate Easter in a church? Grundtvigs Kirke is an unusual Lutheran church resembling an organ. Other sites: heading north to Kronberg Castle which was model for Shakespeare's Elsinore, town of Gilleleje where Jews were hidden and then transported to safety in Sweden, Louisiana art museum. Is the alternate life style settlement of Christiania still functioning? Walking there a stop at Vor Frelsers Kirken with its unusuzal steeple.
