First time to Italy for our anniversary - Suggestions?

We are planning on visiting Italy during the first 2 weeks of September for our anniversary. First time there and would love to hear suggestions from others on hotels , restaurants, sights etc.,to make this trip unforgetable. First stop is Cinque Terrre, then on to Florence, Tuscany, Umbria and then Rome for the return trip back to the US. Thanks in advance.

Defniitely do at least part of the hike between the towns of the Cinque Terre. The parts between Monterosso and Vernazza and Vernazza and Corniglia are the most scenic, but they are also the most difficult.

In Rome, try to walk by the Colosseum/Forum area and Trevi Fountain at night - they are well lit and make a fantastic floodlit photograph.

P.S. After 4 trips to the Cinque Terre my favorite hotel is Hotel Villa Steno in the old town of Monterosso. Search "Villa Steno" and you will find my previous reviews (see tripadvisor too).

Second Villa Steno in CT! We celebrated our anniversary in Italy in April (first time too). Also, try to stop in Orvieto (Umbria).

We loved Residenza Cellini in Rome.
