first time to italy
We are traveling to Italy for the first time leaving Boston, booked at the Hilton in Sorrento in late Sept 05. Seeking info on best airlines, arrival airport, travel to Hotel from airport, travel to Rome from Sorrento via Bus? and then what airport for return to Boston?
Would appreciate any advice.

You've booked a hotel without knowing the least thing about how to get there or what to do aferwards?!?
I have no idea which is the best airline from Boston to Naples; in all probability, you will have to change at Fiumicino (Rome airport) from the international to the national terminal.
There are a number of limousine services from Naples to Sorrento that are recommended here. You can also take a bus from Naples airport to Sorrento. Google "currieri".
From Sorrento to Rome, take the Circumvesuviana from Sorrento to Naples, change levels, and take the Italian Ferrovie dello Stato (Trenitalia; look at www.trenitalia.com) to Rome.
The airport for return to Boston is Fiumicino.

I would call a travel agent tomorrow for flight information.
You can take a bus from Sorrento to Rome. It takes 4 hours. The bus depot is next to Tiburtina train station.
After doing both, I would recommend the train unless you will have lots of luggage.

Hi bob,
Look at http://airtravelcenter.com/onetrav.htm
for discount airfare.
Flying into Naples would be more convenient than into Rome.
Bus service from Naples airport to Sorrento is at http://www.curreriviaggi.it/
If you are going from Sorrento to Rome and then home, you would want to leave from Rome FCO.
