First time to Germany - Markdorf?

I am traveling with my husband to Germany the last of June. We will be staying in Markdorf I think. He has business to attend to but I plan on seeing some sites. I am looking at trips to Meersburg or other towns on the Bodensee (?) and would also like to visit a winery or 2. Another couple will be traveling with us, so are there any suggestions what 2 ladies could do during the day? Oh, and a beer garden would be awesome! This is the first time for the other lady and I, although our husbands have been around Germany several times/different cities. Thank you for any advice/suggestions!

Meersburg is lovely. Just wandering around the town will be fun, but I also suggest you take the boat to Mainau, the flower island. It's really lovely. It's definitely worth an afternoon.

I can't name any specific beer gardens, but you won't have trouble finding one. This is Germany, after all.

thanks so much for your reply! We have decided to stay in Meersburg so we ladies will have more to do,and the men can drive to wherever they have to. We can hang out by the water or go to that spa or a winery. And yes the flower island!

Is there a particular winery nearby that anyone would suggest to visit? I don't know that I'll like the German wines - I tasted a Reisling a couple times and its too sweet for me.

also is the Hotel Off a good place to stay? I liked what I read about it - it has balconies that overlook the lake. There was another hotel (Romantik??) that I liked but may be too expensive for the business to cover. thanks again for any suggestions!!
